Mileage and pedal wear

It'sbeen a while since I last posted here, but this seems like a good
    place to ask the question.

I am getting back into bikes after a period of 4 wheeled neccessity (I
have my wife's permission to get a bike - yay!)

Today I had a look at a rather nice '06 Suzuki SV650S at a dealer
willing to accept $10K for it. It has just under 19000km on the
odometer, the tyres are Dunlops with about 2mm of tread remaining to
the wear indicators and the chain, sprockets and brake discs are good.
Pads have about 2mm depth remaining.

All of this tallies with the odometer, and the log book has the
appropriate stamps at the right intervals.

Good so far, buit here's the catch. The footpeg and gearshift rubbers
show extensive wear, to the extent that the ribs are worn away in
places, and the geasrshift rubber is triangular rather than round.
Also the alloy plate next to the footpeg is polished smooth and there
are nicks and scratches where the seat sits against the tank (not
visible when the seat is on).

So my question is: Does this wear tally with a 19K bike? if so does it
mean it's been hammered? Seems to me footpeg rubbers should last a bit
longer than that and I'm worried the mileage has been doctored somehow.

replying to my own message, its 7K he wants, not 10. 10 would be silly.

That sounds expensive to me, I've seen SV650's advertised on special
every so often new for $10K plus on road.

That was a typo/fat fingers. THe offer was $7K which is OK for an 06
    model from a dealer.

Maybe was used as a commuter bike..More stop/starts and onpeg/offpeg
    routines. Or a courier bike?
