Heheh, it's a gadget that I'm really pleased with, so I don't mind singing
    its praises. :)

I suspect your lady wife has seen quite enough of that particular
    little gadget for a while.

Ah-hah, I've been whooshed. You could be very correct in your assumption.

As long as you don't offer to do it, I'll be fine.

Right, worked it out but Virtualdub saves the edited sequence as 357MB
    rather the 4MB it was.

I'm on my linux box atm, so haven't got access to virtualdub, so my reply
may not be 100% spot on.

In the video menu, you need to choose filters. go down to the timestamp filter
(near the bottom of the list, IIRC) and just select it. Default options for
    the plugin are fine.

Once you've done all the other choices (such as codec, etc) just save the
converted file and the timestamp is quite nicely removed (with a hint of the
    timestamp remaining).

I'll do some screenshots later on, when the Windows box is on again.

Ah, okay. You need to choose another codec too which is nicer than a bog
standard avi. videohelp.com is a great site for virtualdub assistance.
