Doesn't feel that different to my old blade.
Handles well. Has a slight tendency to run a bit wide but I'm putting that
    down
    to rider error.
I does feel quite a bit faster in a straight line though.
It came with a yoshimura race can, so I put the standard Titanium one on for
    the MOT today.
They almost weigh the same and the noise from the standard can is rather
    nice.

    Hadn't noticed that on mine.
Mine came with an Arrow can, with a baffle to make it road-legal when
required. I suspected it was making the throttle response at low-ish
revs a bit "fluffy" (like it was almost out of fuel), so I stuck the
standard can on which sorted the problem nicely.
Yeah, it's got a nice note for a standard can, hasn't it? Quite deep,
and without the "sewing machine" effect of many standard cans.

Ah, you got it then. Nice.
The 12R Std Can is absolutely awful. I have a racy can for it, but I
need to find a zorst strap for it ..

Yes, I did. Have you been not keeping up?
Should be able to get one from your friendly local pattern parts
    supplier, shouldn't you?

    Heh, fair comment.

    On that score:

    and
    www.ganzilla.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/video/wiks_zx-12r-flyby.wmv

Neither really do the sound justice thanks to the weedy microphone on my
    camcorder.

Oh and no comments about the proficiency of the camera-person, either
    ;-)

Ditto that. I just put the Yoshi one back on and it actually feels slower at
    low revs.

You're being "funny", right? That thing is a fuckin' boat-anchor, Ti
construction or not. Plus It weighs something like 15kg!

No, I wasn't joking. I like the original one sided can on the Mille also.
With all the systems going underseat now. They look out of place but soooo
    cool.

    7, it's on standard settings.
I'm gonna twiddle with it tomorrow. I have the power bike settings,
    so I'll try them.

What did you run on yours?
Actually, I seem to recall you had Ohlins?

I'll start here as I'm on my own today.

It's had a hugger from new so the shock is in pristine condition ATM.

    [of adjusting suspension bits]
Doesn't hurt to wrap the tip of any such tool in a nice, thick bit of
cloth, either. I too learnt the hard way from adjusting the boingy bits
    on my Trumpet.

God, this sounds so like my bike.

Don't know what lardy pilot had it before, but the rear is Preloaded so
much it's like a rod on the swingarm. Hard tail 12R.

Definitley needs a fettling, as the pitches fore and aft in the bend,
which is a bit unsettling for the bike and rider.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Problem with your particular model of -12R is that the shock is, well,
crap. If you wind the preload back to factory settings you'll find the
thing squats waaay too much to be comfortable or safe.
You never rode mine, did you? Shame. It was set up to eliminate the
symptoms you describe plus have my not insignificant carcass atop. It
used Dave Jefferies' base-line setup as printed in some mag or other.

'Fraid I can't find it since my last drive crash.

Sorry, that should of course have been Nick Jefferies...

Much better. I left the shock on standard preload but turns in better now.

I'll set it up with sag when I get back from my hols.
