Umm, don't most modern 'phones do that, then? My V3 does but it really
    sucks up the memory.

  2. This enormous great thread about a phone has proved to me that I know
nothing about modern technology at all. I even checked out the K750
website (to see what all the excitement was about) and realised I didn't
understand the terminology or what the phone actually does.

The dark ages are good. It took me ages to accept that text messages
were worth using on occasion and then a few more years to extend that
    acceptance to predictive text.

I still hate them as a means of communication, but it's a good way to
tell somebody something when you don't actually feel like a
    conversation.

Because it's a free program that does just that, and other things too.
The phone does though... it's just the basic bundled software that
    doesn't.
No worries, I think it's good that SE released the specs so people could
write free software, that's not something you see Nokia doing very
    often.

But you could give up any time, like?
Agreed. Mainly, IME, used by junior middle-management types who're not
tech-savvy enough to be able to master a PDA... What really fucks me off
are those same twats who sit there in meetings texting/emailing
everything to everyone. It's the textual equivalent of "I'M ON THE
MOBILE. YES, I'M ON THE TRAIN", etc.

  11. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Bear
    140 SMS a month?

    That's still quite a lot.

You didn't like it? I found the predictive text on my v500, and the
v220 I replaced it with to be as good as any I've come across. Maybe
you just didn't persevere with it?

'Sfunny, I find the Moty V3's "iTAP" waaay better than the last Nokias I
    used (7250i and 6310i respectively).

Mined ewe, I'm sure Adie mentioned that she'd found the V3 better than
her V525 for this, so maybe they've got better.

OIC. Yes, you're probably right - it's far to sophisticated for such a
