  5. If you are dumb as i suspect then why not just admit it ?
Being think as a brick is normal in some societies. You could go into
politics. become an endorsed Liberal candidate. defend Amanda
Vanstone. Cheer Howard on his birthday. Ride a Honda. drive a
Commodore. Mummy is calling. Bye bye.

  6. Yeah, Honda did a really nice job when they released the '01 Ducati
Monsters, they totally revised the water cooling and the gear drive to
the cams, and they went to triple row valve springs which lets them rev
out past 17,000rpm. The fairings came in carbon fibre on the S & R
models in '01 (the standard models got GRP fairings), and they used
tool-less dzus fasteners on them (which you might want to replace if you
park anywhere thats not too secure). The White Power forks on the front
are great, as are the Nissin 6 pot brakes, but the rear is over-sprung
for anyone weighing under about 90kg. They really need a set of pipes to
release the full 4 cylinder howl - Yoshimura and Akropovic both make
nice aftermarket exhausts for it (though the Akro requires you to lose
the exup valve which affects the torque at lower rpm, this isn't much of
a problem since you pretty much always spin these motors up near the
redline anyway). If you get one with the factory luggage (you can tell
the factory luggage versions 'cause they'll have the electrically
adjustable windscreen), check that the cd stacker in the rhs pannier
hasn't been water damaged - there was a factory recall on the weather
seals because the originals would let water in while riding in the rain
if you had the volume up high enough that the subwoofer could vibrate
the seal open. Make sure it hasn't still got the original Avon Viper
tire on the sidecar, they're _hopeless_ on dirt. Keep an eye out too for
cracks around the trailer hitch - a lot of these got used for towing
caravans, often exceeding the recommended max towing weights. You'll
occasionally see one that was used for towing a boat too - this was a
really bad idea, the entire rear suspension and subframe will usually be
rusted out where they got wet in saltwater backing them down the boat
ramp (though if it only ever got used for fresh water boating it might
    be OK).

Glad I could be as much help as you usually are around here, if you've
got any other questions, you know where you can stick them...

    Depends....

    what particular model is it?

If it's a two-valve per, job and has adjustable suspension, and it in
good nick, it's a bit over priced, but...<shrug> might be OK.

If it's one of the four valve per cylinder ones....forget it.

Is your friend a proper hooligan?

If yes, the Monster might suit.

If no, then get them to look elsewhere.

    regards,

Isaac, since when have you had friends? are you sure they are your
friend and its not cause you are the only person they know that rides a
    bike.

mel told me the italians are worse than the jews because they could have
fixed the "jewish problem" but didn't.

good thing your "friend" is not looking at a bmw, cause germans really
    wind mel up...

failure is not an option with some people

always happy to help another brother
