  1. Stolen without shame:

"The British National Party has seen its representation on Barking and
Dagenham Council in east London wiped out, says BBC political
correspondent Ross Hawkins. It had been the second biggest party there,
but all 12 of its councillors lost their seats."

Now will those Moaning Minnies who kept banging on about the need to
unite and fight them listen to myself (and, I think, Steve Auvache) who
referred all and sundry to the same old bollocks being trotted out about
the NF, over three decades ago.

The British electorate isn't that dumb.

You're talking about the same British electorate that voted for the 12
councillors in the first place, right?

I wonder whether we'd have had the same result today if there'd hadn't
been such a vast effort in Barking to rally people against the BNP.

  5. Not really. OK, yes, same people, but different target, as it were.

It's just that I remember all this bollocks from before. "Oooh, the
    Nazis are coming!"

"No, they're fucking not. Just because a few councillors get
    elected...."

Sure, but I think you underestimate the focus that was put on Barking.

So are you saying that if there'd be no real united effort they would
    have lost their seats anyway?

  8. I hadn't noticed any 'real united effort' anyway.

Nationally their vote has more than doubled to nearly 2% of those who
    voted.
By percentage of votes cast, they are the 6th biggest party, taking more
than the Scottish Nationals who got 6 seats.

So, as you don't live in Barking or Dagenham it should come as no
surprise you didn't notice any real effort.

It'd be a waste of resources for UAF to focus on Sutton - that bit of
South London isn't exactly a BNP hotbed.
