Does anyone know of Caravan Parks close to the Tamborine/Mt. Tamborine/North
    Tamborine area?
    Cunangra?
Failing that, any decent but not too expensive cabins or such in that area?
    For a bunch of 9?

    Thanks for any help.
    cheers

I camped at Canungra a fair while back.

It was free, but bastards kept shooting Vickers machine guns just above your
    head.

I know it's no help, but I'm bored.

There's a few high-class places up there (O'Reilly's, Binna Burra and The
Mouse's Houses) but I can't think of a caravan park, sorry.

I would stay at St Bernard's, nothing flash. Basic accommodation.
The foods bloody good, and they have great beer on tap.

Haven't stayed down that way, usually just ride through it on the way to
other places. A good place to check out accomodation is

    Enjoy your stay up here.

I must admit I can't think of any in the area off hand, I think the nearest would be
    Nerang.

  10. No caravan parks at Tamborine - lots of expensive B&Bs, resorts etc.

Canungra Hotel/Motel looks reasonably cheap $66 double, $121 for 4 (motel).
Ph 07 55435155. Dunno how much the hotel rooms are, but it's a nice pub.

Yandooya Farm cabin section - cabins sleep up to 8, prices given for double
    as $80 - 110. 2 cabins only, so you'll need to book. ph 075543 5184.

Next option would be Gold Coast - caravan parks galore, but expensive.

You can say that again. The worst bathroom I've ever seen in casual
accommodation. We were sneaking into the women's bathroom by the end
    of the weekend!

From Canungra head towards Nerang for about 2klm max. and turn right (south)
onto Beechmont Rd. Drive about 5 klms past army barracks on left and across
Coomera River. Immediately after crossing turm right into "free" camping
ground, on banks of river. I think its Nato Parks and you may be up for a few
bucks if they show up. Has tap water, toilets and cold showers. Nice spot if
    river (creek) is running.

Make sure you go for a walk down to Killarney Falls. The starting point is about
5 klms further down same Beechmont Rd. Watch for the tiny little sign on the
eastern side of the road. The army apparently kept hiding the fact that the
Falls exist because they are on or near their playground.

Caravan up Mt Tamborine........ not me! Too many bikers queued up trying to get
    past you!
