Ok, so we frequently do the two-up to Bolinas breakfast ride on Saturday
    mornings.
Lately I have noticed that with the increase in bicycle traffic on the local
highways and roads that I am frequently challenged by four wheeled type
vehicles in my lane. As if there were no Double Yellow line , and that since
they have taken the initiative to pass a group of bicyclists that it is my
responsibility to get out of the way before I get head on'd by one of these
    mf's.

Since when is it OK to just careen over the lines into opposing traffic and
face them off? I have a feeling if I was some goober driving a 50 ton
logging truck, they would be the ones to yield and wouldn't fucking dare to
careen anywhere over the dam line.
I also wonder where the hell are the same LEOs who freely write us up for
passing cars over the DY when this crap happens. Has one of these four
wheeled lane weavers ever gotten a ticket for an unsafe pass, or better yet,
a double yellow violation? I'm betting it hasn't happened, yet anyway.

Meanwhile how many novice riders or even more experienced motorcyclists have
been creamed or run off the road by this type of crap?
Any thoughts on this, or ....
    ?

Oh. I have had that happen - it pisses me off. I was once on 580
heading into Stockton and a big black Cadilliac SUV changed lanes right
into me - drove me off onto the shoulder - I honked and the driver
looked right at me and went on his way. I got so angry at this
callous disregard for my life and limb - I had to pull off the road and
    vent.

Which brings up something I've learned about myself - when I let
something get me angry behind the wheel (or handles bars as the case may
be) I am the biggest threat to myself.
