**** me, people are dropping like flies it seems (1)

This is rather sad, bit of an icon and Blue Velvet is one the all time
    greats imho.

Actor Dennis Hopper is terminally ill and is unable to undergo chemotherapy
    to treat prostate cancer

73, not too bad an innings and he must have rivalled Nicholson in the
"having a good time" stakes. And he did get to mess around with Katherine
    LaNasa after all.

"Hey, man. All we represent to them, man, is somebody who needs a haircut"
    ..
"What the hell is wrong with freedom? That's what it's all about. "

    (1) I expect the "death rate" hasn't *actually* changed all that much

For great Hopper lines, you want True Romance, IMO.

You're just at an age where your peers are starting to die off.

    Get used to it.

Comment from a cousin - "I suppose we're now at the age where we go to
    more funerals than weddings".

I went to my uncles funeral in 2007 and decided not to attend any more until
I do so in a box.

Cheaper than being at the age where you seem to go to a wedding every
weekend or when someone seems to be popping out a sprog every month.

There is no evil in me, I just wear tight underwear."

I've always gone to more funerals than weddings. Prefer them, too.

  13. In 2006 I went to 6 funerals of good friends. Only once was around my
age, the rest were under 30, the youngest was 19. 2006 can go ****
itself. I hadn't been to a funeral for 10 years prior to that.

It's not generally considered such good form to pull at 'em, though.

1982, 6 funerals of people I knew who'd died on bikes. Most drank in
the same biker pub as me

Is there anything worse than a fucking wedding? If so, I've yet to
experience it. Even open heart surgery is preferable.

And kids completely **** up a blokes (not having them, of course), even
though they insist that fathering one won't change their way of life.

There's a reasonable chance a bridesmaid will have a chap but widows are
    a dead cert, right?
