It lives. "J" (identity changed to protect the innocent) and I got stuck in and put it back together today. For a 14 year old this lad is a brilliant spannerman, he's just got that natural ability. The bike's sweet as a nut now. I quite envy your job. You get to spend time with these kids doing stuff they want to do. If you haven't already, get some prints[1] done for the lad and burn the photos to a CD for him. Whatever you do, don't keep any images showing his identity for yourself. [1] just register at http://www1.snapfish.co.uk/ with a disposable email address to get 20 free prints
I replied to this post but then remembered you wouldn't see it on the cheesy server as I used Virgin I SAID, "I quite envy your job. You get to spend time with these kids doing stuff they want to do. Lads like that are wroth encouraging. And the bike really needs a disc front end. But it looks lovely. Yamaha should have built it like that.
Just leave it round the back of the workshop and I've no doubt somebody will do that for you. Big shades. -- Dave GS850x2 XS650 SE6a Teach a man to fish and he and his pikey mates will have the river cleaned out in a day.
Sounds like a good lad. Even if he has got a hideous skin complaint.[/QUOTE] Heh. Nice one Mr Bear. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
wessie says... After speaking with the boss today all those photos have been removed from flickr. I'd already saved a copy of all pics for the young person and for our staff to use as evidence of the work he's done for accreditation purposes...and then deleted all images from my pc, including those that hide his ID. The last thing I need is to be stuck in court on some stupid unwarranted child protection act charge. -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE Suzuki SV650 K3 Honda CBR600 F-W Suzuki GSX-R750L Yamaha SR250 SpazzTrakka
Good advice. The policy I have had recommended to me is: "by all means take photos of the kids with your own phone/camera. Always treat the photos as the property of the kid(s). Never keep copies yourself. Once you have burnt them to a CD or arranged for prints then delete them from your own equipment. The CD and/or prints should be handed to the young person's key worker. Never transfer the photos to company computers unless authorised by a senior manager." Good stuff. Most of the kids I work with have few pictures of themselves so they usually appreciate the effort. Exactly. Malicious allegations go with the territory so you need to minimise any risk.
