Filled the tank at Morrisons Bristol road. Brum. Sunday (111.9p) and headed
off to the Aberystwyth sun and pulled into Morrisons when i got there, to
top up the tank and do a little sightseeing - 115.9p ??? WTF -

Commented on the price difference and received a dumb stare !!

    Both sound cheap to me.

It was more like 1.20 for petrol, 1.30 for diesel last time I filled
    up.

Indeed. The cheapest unleaded that I know of has recently dropped from
121.9 to 117.9 round here but diesel is still 130-ish but I don't care
    about that!

    Tesco Amersham - 117.9 yesterday
Tesco Watford - 113.9 on Sunday, when I didn't have the bloody 5p/litre
    voucher with me...

I do, as it's what the tractor on the drive feeds on.

I'm thinking my next car will be petrol again though.

  7. 'Kinell, I saw 1.25 a litre yesterday in London. ****!

Will the good cheer spread, I wonder. (and come down in price to
something approaching levels we saw before 90p a litre?

Couple of the others on the edge of Watf were that price, too.
**** is not wrong. I've not seen anywhere near that apart from m-way
    services...

111.9 at in Buxton on Sunday as well, it made me smile until I
remembered it was still bloody expensive...

My guess is this is only temporary respite in the long term upward
trend of fuel prices. $200/barrel for oil by next year is very
    likely :-(

I filled up for 1 euro a litre for 95 RON on recent travels - in the
    Italian commune of Livigno.

It's always been so. Locally, Waitrose have just cut their price to
£1.139 which will be matched by Esso. The Shell on the A40 at Crickhowell
    will undercut them by 1p.

Travel into England, towards Hereford, and the price increase by anything
up to 5p a litre as the price there seems to be dictated by Tesco.

Where is "Round Here"? be nice for some locations so to avoid the dearest
    areas .... ;o)

I was under the impression that Morrisons price drop was UK wide !! -
perhaps only in the cities, yes ???

Down south - Maidenhead, to be precise.
I don't know to be honest - I was referring to the Esso garage opposite
    my office.

PS. Please don't top post - the locals don't like it.

I was surprised when zig-zagging down the hill from Bormio, seeing a Q8
garage with 1.00 on the sign. When I got closer I could see there was a
smaller euro sign. According to Autoroute, they have 11 petrol stations for
    a town with a population of 5200.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livigno

"Livigno enjoys a special tax status as duty-free area. Italian VAT (Value
Added Tax) is not paid. Although tax advantages for Livigno were recorded
as far back as the sixteenth century, the current tax exemption was first
introduced by the Austrian Empire around 1840. It was then confirmed by the
Kingdom of Italy around 1910, then by the Italian Republic and the European
Economic Community in 1960. Although no VAT is paid, income taxes are, thus
Livigno cannot be considered as a tax haven."

Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of building work being done there as they
have thriving winter & summer sports tourism.

Now you see - with a decent newsreader and a decent news server you
wouldn't have to fart about like that.
