MOT Fail - Lights

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by !Speedy Gonzales!, Jul 28, 2005.

  1. Bandit failed it's MOT today due to the dipped beam being too 'high', turned
out the bulb and bulb 'chasis' had become dislodged, probably due to me
going over a pot hole recently. Anyhow, the projected light was 'a little
too high', said the tester. Brought the bike home and going to give it a
once over tonight before handing it back in tomorrow, question is, how do I
check the light is within the legal limit? What is the spec? When I popped
the bulb back in as it should be, the projected light only went down a
matter of 2 inches as projected when the bike was 2 feet back from a wall.
Does anyone know what the testers are looking for?

P.S I know I can google for this but I get a better ripping when I request
    these simple things on UKRM!
