A driving examiner passed matey-boy here, which is the worrying thing.
He knew the wrog thing to do, and did it anyway.

I thought it was only the after-images that were green?

The NIP doesn't help this argument...

That's what worries me more and more - especially on the bike - it's
not my stupidity (I can live with that) - it's someone elses I worry
    about.

Still, the day Rope's punted off by an uninsured, unlicenced 'plonker'
I'm sure the boot will arrive on the other foot.

It wouldn't flash though - it would always be on.

That would probably put it into a new light, but I'm going to keep
schtum on this. The only constructive thing I can think of is for him
to shop his son. I can imagine that being a pretty hard thing to do,
and I don't know that I'd do the same.

His son might 'misplace' his keys.

    Good thought. http://www.accurate-armour.com/images/Bfs2a.jpg

While on a different scale(!) it's the same basic thing.

Why would you expect them to if you have your main beam on? They'd have
absolutely no way of knowing whether you were stationary or racing
    towards them.

It's because he's a stupid suicidal **** who refuses to accept that
he's doign a favour neither for himself nor for bikers in general. At
best he'll piss off every other road user he points towards, many of
whom will take him as typical of other 'inconsiderate bikers'; at
worst he'll cause accidents, unfortunately not neccessarily to
    himself.

He's been told enough times, but refuses to accept that his behaviour
    is totally unacceptable.

It's motion, not intensity that catches attention.

All main beam does is add an extra headache in because it makes it
    bloody difficult to judge speed.

You installed Vision Plus bulbs yet?

Personally I'd not have "mentioned it", I'd have taken the keys off him
and said he was welcome to involve the police if he wanted them back.

Did you mean to reply to ginge, or do you mean:
He'll lose his house keys to some dodgy folk as revenge for being
    shopped?
He'll fake losing his house keys so the locks have to be changed
    causing bother?
He'll fake losing his car keys so they can't be taken away, then he'll
hotwire the car to getting it going?

That's because you're on main beam, Nidge.

Perhaps you ought to try using dip beam instead: it can't be any
worse, eh? Or - and here's a radical thought - could it be your
positioning or approach speed that is confusing other road users?

Personally, if I were a trucker and some twat on a bike came hooning
towards me with main beam on - I'd try to squish the ignorant fucker.

I'd thank you for two things, Nidge:

    1) Not to use main beam *anywhere* near me in future

    2) Not to edit my posts to suit your attitude.
