Indeed, but it'd still be fuckng hard to do it unintentionally.
Not fancy those ski add-on thingies? They look just the job and they'd be
fucking perfect if they were retractable and a man of your engineering
background should be able to knock up a pair of retracts in no time.

I prefer the good old fashioned way of keeping my feet hovering just
above the floor and relying on luck to keep me upright.

From the pictures, it looks like the Swiss chair stays horizontal whilst
the bike leans away, or towards it. So from the passengers point of
view the ride is more or less similar to a regular outfit, if not worse
since the rider can go through corners faster, unaffected by the
    centripetal acceleration.

The wheel of the Flexit is under its centre - a major difference.

Good for a bit of fun, but for a lengthy trip into enema territory? Braver
    than me Andy.

    Hi "ts" in Surrey! :)

I am John Goff, The World's only know Flexit sidecar historian. There
are at least 6 left-side attach Flexits in the UK. I have notified 3
of them of your interest in Flexits.

Re: Your comment about 3 U-shaped tires - The Flexit inventor, Hannes
Myburgh, is a trained engineer and designer. He choose the wide
profile radial car tire (borrowed from a Mini Cooper) deliberately.
And for 3 very well considered reasons. Starting in South Africa, and
then in the USA before manufacture moved to Holland, with a lot of
long straight roads, this tire choice, at a recommended tire pressure
of 1.5 bar or about 22 psi, yields:

    1) Improved passenger ride quality;
    2) The linear tire tread design aids is straight line, straight ahead
    stability, and
    3) It recognizes that the majority of your ride time is straight
ahead. The minority of your ride time is actually spent in the
    corners.

Moreover, as an experienced Flexit rider, I can tell your that the
relatively flat bottomed tire is simply _NOT_ a problem, _NOT_ a
    handling compromise.

As always, Any questions? Please ask! :)

    Warm regards,

John Goff, The World's only known Flexit sidecar historian! :)

  10. We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the

"This motorcycle was equipped with radio telemetry to record all aspects
of the test run. Hannes (pronounced “han-ness”) plus his Flexit sidecar
were looping around their test track reaching speeds of 260 kph (161
mph) in 6th gear in straights, which impressed the Triumph engineers."

    Smells like bullshite.

Wow - many thanks for this personal info service!
Could be interesting to see one, but I doubt my sidecar pilot skills
would make me the most suitable test pilot of this parish. By the way,
does Max Maxwell happen to be on your list of UK owners?
For general use I'm sure you're right. My comment was based on what I
assumed would be the optimal profile, on twisty roads. But in real life
I assume it would be difficult to find a suitable speed rated
round-profile tyre in the required size :))
Not yet, but if I should get the opportunity to pilot such an outfit,
    I'm sure I will have some . . .
