    new ones.

    Overpriced Italian shite or what?

Specifically, how mad am I for fancying a V11 Cafe Sport?

I mean, you could buy a real bike for that money...

Followed one in to work today. Looks nice, I suppose, if that's your bag,
but what is it actually *for*?

I'm back into "spazzing about which bike I want[1]" mode. There's
probably only a tiny tiny tiny chance of my ever actually buying a
    Moto Guzzi.

How are you finding the CCM, BTW?

[1] want another supermoto, but also something else[2]. Dunno.
[2] the moon on a stick, for no money, effectively.

Good. Cos let's face it, Guzzis are a little bit "bar Italia"
Great, though it temporarily fucked my Aprilia riding. Went down to Bracken
on Saturday with a mate from work to help him buy a KTM LC8 and decided to
take the mille, cos it hadn't had a run for a few weeks. Trying to use
CCM-sized throttle openings (i.e. full) on a mille on a busy South Circular
while aiming for CCM sized gaps is, er, "interesting". I shall have to make
a concerted effort to ride both rather than take the first bike that comes
to hand, which is always the CCM (mille's on a ground anchor at the back of
    the garage)
Weeelll... you liked the GS, but it was too big, yes? Matey boy at work is
flogging his, and getting the KTM LC8, which has some supermotoesque
characteristics, for pretty much the same reason

I had a go on a V11 Le Man a couple of years ago and quite liked it.

The handling was surprisingly good and very confidence inspiring, which
wasn't what I was expecting at all, but, on the down side, the engine seemed
    absolutely gutless.

The other thing was that the lad who owned it managed to put less than 600
miles on it in 18 months because things kept going wrong and the parts
supply was just beyond a joke[1]. If the stories about problems at Aprilia
are true then it's unlikely to get better either.

Funnily enough another friend of mine has just bought one and he seems to
like it, but he is absolutely a fair weather rider and is lucky to clock up
more than a couple of hundred miles in a year anyway.

    So, in conclusion, dunno.

I do like the look of the LC8, but they're a little heavy - I'm after
something I can actually do a bit of green-laneing on. Current front
runner is still a DR-Z400, with additional supermoto wheels "for da
    street".

Get a proper 70s Le Mans, £3K. Won't depreciate, goes, stops and handles
pretty well. Make 100 mph seem fast again.

You may need to buy a manual though.

won't it break down all the time?
    that's a "yes", isn't it?

    Anyway, I already have a 70s-style SOB.

I really ought to blag a go on yours (and yes, I know you already
    offered).

It would provide many of the things a guzzi would at a cheaper price (ie the
    moon on stick as requested).

S'wot I was finking too, although tbf it's the advert that describes
it as such - Flash obviously just knows **** all about **** all and
couldn't work out that the similarities between a 350cc transverse
four and a 750/850cc V-twin are somewhat on the lacking side.

Nope. SWK may be along shortly but ISTR that the engine is basically a
honda clone, so it should be pretty bulletproof. Speed? Naah, it'll
prolly struggle to do a ton, and even the original 750 le Mans was
good for 120 or more. Handling? Well, yeah it'll be OK for a SOB, very
much like my 400/4, I imagine, but it's only an ickle bike, after all,
so will feel completely different to a guzzi, particularly the modern
    1100 version.

So in short, you're spouting shite :)
