Greasy freezing roads, cold tyres, touch the brake at 50mph and straight
down on my arse watching an expensive sparkler display sliding to a stand
    a good 100yds away.

I'll have a proper look at it tomorrow but given both I and the bike
became soaked in brake fluid, oil and petrol it doesn't bode well.

    Ooh bugger. Clumsy ****.
Double bugger. Still, at least you didn't become soaked in blood.

    The workshop's at your disposal.

Clumsy ****. Those titanium knee sliders were worth it then?
I hope you haven't killed Snorky.

Phew. You might have been fetching a bottle of it back from the shops,
    though.

    sweller says...
Given that I think you only have two bikes running that use brake fluid
and enough oil in the crankcases to notice a spillage, I'm guessing this
    was the Guzzi.

Not the Guzzi! There's just something about that bike. I'm sure you
    can rebuild it.

Oh and I hope you're not too damaged.

  13. It doesn't bode well?? All that shite you have collected for "spares"
will come in dead handy now. Something is bound to fit, think of the
    space you will gain.

Only a Guzzi? It was my Guzzi - and I'm feeling pretty fucked off about
    it.

However, in good news the padded waterproof over-trouser-salopette things
you abandoned at Chimay that I'd pressed into service saved my leather
    trousers by shredding themselves.

Actually, those overtrousesr were really good. Stopped wind chill and
the worst of the rain. Even in the torrential stuff Graham and I
travelled through on the way back from Chimay - it was really, really
shit and they didn't leak at all.

Not sure why you threw them away but they kept me warm stood by the side
of the road. Even with my arse hanging out of them.

    Stupid boy.
It'll only be superficial stuff that you can fix it with chewing gum
and sticking plasters as we did with a certain persons gixxer thou
after he threw it on its side in Belgium.

If TOG threw something away I'd be concerned. Do you think they might
have genetic evidence of some sort on them?

I hate this time of year for riding. Glad you didn't break anything
organic though. I stayed in bed this morning until there'd been enough
traffic to make things a little less hazardous.

    Bad luck mate.

I must admit that I have chickened-out of riding for the past week as a
    risk reduction excercise.
