Not necessarily what I hope for, but what I think is most likely the standings when the season is over: 1. Rossi 2. Melandri 3. Edwards 4. Hayden 5. Capirossi 6. Gibernau 7. Nakano 8. Checa 9. Pedrosa 10. Vermeulen What I really wish gonna happen? Well, as always I'll root for the underdogs, whether it's a small factory or an underpaid rider. -- peer
Julian Bond says: So what is the spread at the online betting parlors? Is the one that advertises at the track bet to win or something like that? Go fast. Take chances. Mike S.
Champ points to: Cool. Odds are at the right. First MotoGP bets are for fastest qualifying time. As of 8:25 EST March 22, odds for top three finish (I can't find bets to win?) are: Rossi 1.45:1 Capirossi 1.5 Gib 1.5 Melandri 2.2 Hayden 2.8 Pedrosa 4 Checa 5 Nakano 5 Edwards 5 Hopkins 6 Go fast. Take chances. Mike S.
Wait - that's for a top three finish IN QUALIFYING Maybe you can't bet on the race until after??? Go fast. Take chances. Mike S.
Here my simulation results based on a simplistic Excel spreadhseet, some quantified gutfeel data and a simple formula... 1. rossi 2. edwards 3. capirossi 4. melandri 5. gibernau 6. hayden 7. tamada 8. checa 9. roberts 10. pedrosa 11. nakano 12. hopkins 13. elias 14. stoner 15. vermeulen 16+ ellison... hofmann... cardoso... depuniet It looks kind of weird to me, I'd like Hayden to be further up, and have a feeling he very well may, but then again I have to go by my spreadsheet criteria. Perhaps I ranked past experience and pedigree/results too highly, and pressure to perform and hunger too lowly.
Tamada has the team infrastructure behind him -obviously someone out there likes him- and despite a very underwhelming 2005 he does have a bit of a resume. As mentioned, previous results and team infrastructure was factored in quite heavily. As far as Edwards goes, despite rumors to the contrary I have always said I think he has a lot of ability he hasn't shown in MotoGP. Perhaps the continuity in a team will help. It better! Enjoy the vacation! ....pablo
1. Rossi 2. Capirossi 3. Pedrosa 4. Melandri 5. Gibernau And yes, I've seen 1. practice times so call me a cheater, but I doubt that Pedrosa will start on the front row. I actually expect him to start from second or third row.
Huh... vermeulen 15th? He will finish top-8, and more likely top-5, if not better. He's riding a bike with pneumatic valves now, I've heard... Bram
My prediction: 1 Rossi 2 Pedrossa 3 Mellandri 4 Edwards 5 Vermeulen 6 Hayden 7 Gibernau 8 Nakano 9 Puniet 10 Hopkins 11 Stoner
