    Well

    Worth

    Watching

    That's about it, really.
One bike with eight wheels in the lead, everybody up the inside of
everybody else, three abreast round corners. Fantastic.

Certainly shows up F1 for the stately processional pile of poo it has
    become.

Aye, that's the best GP race I've seen in a very long time. Someone's
going to be crying in his beer tonight though.

This is where someone photoshops a nice shot of Danny Pedrosa (in his
Repsol leathers) hanging off his mothers tit.

What about the Aussie kid? Fantastic race, plus he kept his cool to
settle for second. An old head on young shoulders indeed.

    Phil Read MV 1974

MV having won every title since '58, which somehow sounds wrong.
Did honda *never* win it in the sixties?

I'm sure Melandri will be chuffed to be left out of your top ten. :)

  15. Agreed, but he's still sensational. World Champ in the making.

I knew they took their ball home in '67 when the FIM effectively
stopped them seeing how many cylinders could be fitted to a
motorcycle, but I thought they might have sneaked one before then.

Of course, come 74, they couldn't build a bike to compete, as Soichiro
was no Lozzo. Hence the nearly ready, before they gave in with
    Freddie.

I agree he simply got beat. It was an excellent race as was the 250. It
is good that there is actually some uncertainty as to who will win. I
was pleased to see that Melandri has kicked himself up the backside and
got back into contention. I have mixed views about Hayden - sometimes
his riding is well worth watching and other times he just seems to lack
that extra little bit that is needed to get to the front and then put
some distance / tactical advantage between him and those following. In
fact thinking about it I'm not sure he is much of a tactician but that
may well be me just not being able to see it.

I'm waiting for the old psychological war to resume between Rossi /
Yamaha and the new contenders / Honda. Rossi is an absolute master at
that game and unless he has lost interest in the championship I think
the young upstarts will get a bit of a shock soon - even Icicle Man
Pedrosa. All in all it bodes well for the championship.

I'm waiting for Neil to post to team ixiot with his normal "I've
    beaten him" claim.

Certain people can claim to have beaten Neil so does that make them
    faster than Casey Stoner?

    Rossi
    Melandri
    Hayden

It'll be very fucking close though and I think Pedrosa will win it
next year no matter who else is riding in the championship.

    Hmmm, go on then.

    1. Melandri
    2. Rossi
    3. Pedrosa

Melandri is a bit special IMHO. It's taken him a bit longer to mature
than Rossi, but he's beginning to reach the top of his game and become
    more consistent.
