OK, as top 3 seems to be order of the day, here's my guess.

    Melandri
    Rossi
    Capirossi

  2. Maybe. He's very, very good, but a sparkling debut does not guarantee
a world championship. See Biaggi and Kocinski for examples.[/QUOTE]

True enough. A lad worth watching, anyway.

I was cheering on for him win. I reckon after that effort he really
    deserved it.

And if Suzuki were to fit some customer Honda V5 engines to their
bikes then really watch them go.

It's going to become more common as bikes get smaller and light I
    reckon.

I mean, you could have someone as good as rider as Pedrosa, but if
he's 6 foot 3 and 15 stone like me, he ain't going to win GPs simply
because of the size of the bike and the affect his size has on it.

Jockeys are the best analogy I can think of.

  8. It's been that way for years, too. Several times I've posted a comment
only to find that someone else has posted the same thing almost word for
word. Often, spookily, at the same time.

  10. What do you mean "now"? We've had them for bloody ages. We've also had
Hinge and Bracket (Platy and WUN) [1] for ages too.

[1] sorry chaps but it's your late night posting exchanges that created
    that image.

Heh, thanks for sharing that with us a while back. Shortly afterwards I
called in to Clay Cross Powersports and the parts monkies were giving
the girl on service reception a bit of a hard time, so I likened them
to Hinge and Bracket. She collapsed in fits of laughter, whilst
pointing at them. Made her day it did.

    Hinge and Brackett? Oh dear.

Nigel, old boy? We're going to have to crank up the campness a bit.

  14. Not necessarily - you could always base yourselves on the Kenny Everett
and Billy Connolly spoof of H&B that used to be on KE's telly show.

  16. Conversation with son on being shown the above with the URL covered
    over...

    "Want to see something disturbing?"
    "Is it Dad?"
"NO! It is someone's father though"
    "Is it grandad?"
    "There's a bike in it" [1]
    "Platy. MOTHER OF CHRIST"

    A voice from the sidelines..

"No, he's father of the antichrist"

[1] my dad's blind, come to think of it it hasn't stopped him jumping
out of planes, riding the fastest rollercoasters he can find and
driving double deckers, so not quite as daft a question as I first
    thought.

I'm not usually, but for the rest of the season I shall be praying for
Rossi to eat gravel every outing [1].

Pedrosa, Hayden, Capirossi, Melandri, any of them will do. Just not that
monkey-faced bugger on the yellow Yamaha at 8/11.

[1] Hurrah for online betting. It's like gambling with monopoly money,
    but more expensive.

I dunno, last season I found myself chuckling out loud (if not hooting
with joy) each time Gibernau took a detour via the Weston beach race.
It's much the same thing, albeit with 30 whole quid [1] riding on the
    outcome.

[1] First rule, obv, being don't bet that which you can't afford to
lose. But if Pedrosa comes through by some minor miracle, the milky
    bars are on me.
