This morning I sampled the Victorian flavour. It seems that just like
the NSW and ACT varieties, they go out of their way to make the whole
    experience a painful ordeal.

  2. It must have changed over time... been a while since dealing with NSW
ones, but I remember they were shit!

They've gotten a lot less worse over the last decade.
    (They used to be atrocious.)

The Greensborough one, generally less chaotic than the
    Carlton one ...

No no, this was just to transfer my licence and truck rego.

Good-o! I hasn't taken you as long as I thought it would! ;-)

(Just tighten all the bolts, it worked on mine).

I don't think they've got any less worse, just that a lot of their
customers no longer need to front up to the office to perform simple
transactions that weren't available online a decade ago, so you get the
same service, you just don't have to wait as long for it.
You have to expect that when they did such a good job of hiding the
    Greensborough office from the public.

  8. Well 'tis the season... and it has provided a safer habitat for the native
rat. Looks like it's back to bush fires in the engine bay for him!
Just giving the Inox time to work.

I find that the larger and busier the VicRoads office the more by the
more painful the whole experience is.

Thats why I tend to trundle along the Calder Highway to the little 1 (2
in busy periods) person Kyneton office (just off the southernmost exit
    to kyneton).

Much less hassle than the Bendigo office (let alone that Carlton one!).

I suspect that going to Kyneton would take even more out of my workday
    though!

It's done now, and even after paying for truck rego, trailer rego and
new licence it's still $128 cheaper than renewing the truck rego in the
    ACT.

(Of course, that will probably get gobbled up by the increased 3PP
    insurance premium...)
