I am looking for motorcycle events happening between the second week in
January and the second week in March, located in the Sacramento or Bay
Areas. Ideally, admission will be free or not exorbitantly expensive (under
$10), and open to people who arrive without a bike. Unfortunately, this
comes too late for the San Mateo show and too early for the AFM racing
season (might do that next quarter), but it would be cool if I could find a
suitable fieldtrip location. I would appreciate any suggestions the group
    has to offer.

Nothing in CA is under $10!

Just going to the movies is $12-14. Don't ask about the popcorn.

I can picture a group of (under 21) college freshmen at such an event, and
picture myself living in a carboard box next to the railroad tracks as a
    result....
Last one of those I went to I saw more than just a thong.

Hm... maybe I'll ditch the students and go by myself....

    Hi Holly,

The Doc Wong group rides are always free and, in my opinion, fun.
You can find the schedule at www.docwong.com/st-clinc/index.htm.
The ride scheduled for Sunday, February 6th seems to fit within
    your timeframe.

    Hope to see you there!

Whereabouts? Sounds kind of like fun!

Death Valley in late january. its just a unstructured weekend
gettogether, either camp or hotel, only cost is the room or campsite and
meals (for which you're on your own, nothing is organized).

Thanks for the tips about this and (Craig) the Doc Wong thing. I would
enjoy those, but it's probably not suitable for a class fieldtrip. Maybe
I'll just show them the movie "Faster".

Don't forget DV got hammered by flash floods in August
Hwy 190 is cut in several places, Titus Canyon is closed, Artists Palette
Drive is closed, Dantes View is closed, etc...

Isn't going to stop me, though! I am going down for Presidents Day weekend
