do you still have donkeys, or have you converted them all to jackets
    now?

You're not quoting any of the post to which you're replying (as I've
done above) which can make the thread of conversation a little hard to
    follow.

You need two things - a newsreader (Forte Agent, Gravity, Xananews or
at a pinch Outlook Express) and a news server (many of us use
news.individual.net, there are free ones around) which will host
    newsgroups like this one.

  15. Long story - but to shorten it - the donkeys stayed with their mummy when
naughty daddy went to live with new mummy.

Is that an option in Google Groups? It is when searching them for past
    posts.

Do "group by topic", then "view as tree". It's not bad when you get
used to it, and saves setting up a news client on my umpteen PC's
