Armour is less important that resistance to abrasion. If you must go
cheap, at least go for something like this.

support your local bike shop - they are becoming quite thin on the ground
plus you will get a garment that fits.

 

As wessie implied, go to a shop, try them on, if undecided buy
whichever one the shop recommends.
