I am looking for a steel motorcycle lift table, something like the ones used
in motorcycle workshops. I have seen some of the "Cheap" Chinese imports
available at "Trade Tools" and Hare & Forbes for a little over $500.00 but
was wondering is something better was available a air-hydraulic unit would
    be good.

  2. Boxer,
I bought one of those Chinese ones, an air hydraulic one from a place in
    Tullamarine
    The Melbourne Tullamarine that is.....
I think it cost me arounf $350...$400, or thereabouts
I couldn't get the air ram to work, so I went back and they gave me another
    ram
without taking the old one back
I used it with the foot pump for a while, then decided to take thte ram
apart and see what was the trouble
However, when I got it half way apart, I ran the air through it and it
    started to work
so I shoved things back together and it has been working fine since

It is not a heavy duty shop one, but will lift a Harley dresser easy
another small problem I found, was the front wheel stop, I rode the bike
onto the table and up against the wheel stop and it bent
very easily, so I welded a couple of angle pieces to strengthen it up
They advertise in Just Bikes, but I haven't a clue as to the charges for
    transport to Brisbane

Maybe you could get one from the Cleveland Harley joint at Capalaba or they
    would know where you could

  3. Got mine from Trade Tools in Capalaba, about $400. Not sure if they
still do them. They had none in stock but got one in for me.

  4. I've got a cheap chinese one. $450 from Malz in Balcatta WA. Built 6 bikes on
it so far with 0 problems. Spilt everything on it from coolant to brake fluid
and paint on it is still 100%. After every bike I pull it out the garage and
hose it off. No probs at all. I'm really happy with it.

Spilled paint and coolant doesn't damage it? It must be made of
    kryptonite or something alien!

As long as you don't have a fairing or pipes running under....

Yeah, I've got a large piece of soft wood (chopping-board-sized) that
I use between it and the pipes to spread and cushion the load.
I think she got it at a K-Mart sale. You could also try Supercheap
    maybe.
If all esle fails they've also got them on Ebay.

  12. I got one the same from K-Mart and it cost me $85
They had to get it from another store, but that didn't cost any extra

  14. It's bloody good. If I get brake fluid on it I wipe it up straight away but it
    still looks like new.

I spilled some brake fluid on my driveway, and now there's a mark where
the concrete is a different colour to the rest. Guess that's why they
don't build bike lifts out of concrete!

I always thought a wee grin was caused by things like...

"If you can pee above this line you should be a fireman".
