Motorcycle related dilemma

So, it's only a few weeks to the next TOG tour, and I find myself
without a working motorcycle suitable for taking a pillion. The
    following options present themselves:

    1. Stick to the original plan, which was to get the turbo back
together. The new forks are away being chromed, but the original ones
are in there. Frankly all it needs is a bit of bolting together. But
I'm feeling lazy, and have a new bike itch. On the other hand, maybe
the current economic climate is not a time to spray money about.

    2. Buy a cheap Hayabusa. But there's no such thing. 3.5k seems to
be the absolute minimum, even for a 10 year old one, and I'd prolly
need 4k for one in good nick.

    3. Buy a cheap ZZR1100. Loads of them about. But I've owned two
before, when they were current, and I don't really want to go back.
It's not a bike I want to 'collect' (unlike an early Hayabusa...)

    4. Say **** it and buy a new ZZR1400 for 8k on 0% finance. (Or
perhaps a new Hayabusa for 7.5k (no 0% mind). But I think the 'busa
to own is the original one.)

    5. Borrow a bike suitable for a weekend for two from an appropriately
    generous ukrmer.

So, chaps, what should I do?

Or 5, if you want to borrow the Notrun.

Yeah, that'd be funny. Go for 5. F will like the engine, I can tighten
up the Isospastics if you like.

  5. You can take the Duke & soft luggage, but it might be a tad underpowered
    with two up.

    a. What is non-Kawasaki about options 3 and 4?
    b. I don't think a 12R is a good pillion bike.

Up until being bounced up the road Hayley thought the ZX was a comfy pillion
bike. Not in the same class as the K12GT admittedly but comfy enough

Hahaha. I'd give him about 20 feet before he gave it back. Assuming
    he could start it.

Yeah, you're right. It'd be too much for him. Proper man's bike, is
    that.

Champ? Forget it mate, you're not up to it.

I'd say it would be a tad cramped for that kind of mileage.

We find it OK for a day trip out of 100-150 miles - wouldn't want to do
a weekend on it with luggage.

    Hint
If you want my ST decide quickly. I offered it and wont welch, But I'd need
    to get the 100RS MOT'd.

Statto has an even better ST unused in his garage you know. You would like
the suspension on that model. Dunno if he is planning to go.

I saw one at just under that today - not mint but good for the age. Tiny
wheel paint chips and couple of tiny touch-ups but basically clean, good
    history. Email me for details.
Life's too short to own the same bike twice.
I saw one today, and to quote Nige, "It were gash."

Oops, I mean "It were gash?"
It's easy, it's free, and if you crash, meh.

Yes but think of the extortionate cost of extra tassles, horns, and chrome.
