Pretty amazing! Wondering if I should carry food & water or a GPS
tracking device for my jaunts up on Hwy 35 et al. There's some pretty
remote stuff up there!

Pretty dumb. The guy crawls 30 yds to shade instead of 5 yards to the
road where a passing vehicle would undoubtedly have found him sooner.

But yes, it's good to at least carry water.

A lot of that problem was due to the fact that they believed they had
been on the Montegue expressway and reported this as their location when
they called for help on a cellphone. Something along the lines of
"we're lost in the woods by the side of the expressway."

I think (and hope) their kids persuaded them to stop driving after they
were rescued.
