Is it just me, or is it dropping posts left right and centre? I don't
think there's a single complete thread on the entire server.

At this rate it'll be worth my while coughing up for a subs renewal on
    the german server.

It's not just you. I've definately missed a few posts over the last day
or two, and I'm having half of my new posts rejected.

  4. Yep, me too. Missing posts appear hours later, long after the gist of
    the thread has been gleaned.

How odd. I'm having no such difficulties. There've been a couple of
periods when it's been slow to update posts made other than on its own
server, and maybe once or twice I've seen an apparent missed post in a
thread, but no more frequently than that.

In your world, UKRM threads have a gist?

They're onto you. They know you're a broken, non bike riding rasberry and as
such, you have no rights or privileges.

  9. Well they certainly do, for at least 3 posts then it wanders off.

    Me three.

Missing posts and one particularly witty and erudite offering of mine
    never appeared.

You posted a witty and erudite offering? I don't think anyone saw that

Motzarella had a problem with its overview database during the night
from Thursday to Friday, but this was fixed by 10 o'clock yesterday
morning. As for the rejects, I do not see any "posting rejected"
messages for your account in the logs, so these may have been connection
timeouts while the database was not responding. If you think there are
articles missing from Motzarella I would be grateful if someone dropped
me a note stating the message ID of the missing article. Motzarella has
more than 50 peers and completion should be next to 100% under normal
    circumstances.

    TIA

  13. Do they peer with force9/plusnet? Last week f9 lost posts during the
period following them turning over their Usenet business to a "3rd
    party".

No, Motzarella peers with zen.net.uk and news.newnet.co.uk in the UK,
but glorb.com and news-service.com, both in the Top 10 of usenet
servers, should compensate for any leaky feed.

It'll no doubt get me more puerile abuse, but should anyone want shell &
posting access from my server ('only' one peer: news.free.fr but unlimited
retention of UKRM and updates every 360 seconds), they just need to ask.

    Blimey - there's service for you. <G>

    I wouldn't worry about it - it's not a permanent problem, and it's
only happened once in the time I've been using Motz. The server
message was saying everything was ok, but when the client (Xananews)
was trying to send the messages it was returning something along the
lines of "Posting error: Duplicate subject". As I was seeing
incomplete threads I just assumed (wrongly) it was all part of the
    same hiccup.

    Shan't do it again, Mister.
