Moulded earphones

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Andrew Price @home, May 12, 2008.

  1. I think it was Tim at the Unuagural sporting a pair of moulded ear plugs,
which he said he rather liked, combined with an mp3 player which responded
to him tapping his chest pocket to change channels & volume.

Any recommendations as to where to source & fit a pair in or near Sinney?

Best, andrew [lose the .x1 factor to email]

(who is thinking of doing some klicks and is tired of his own conversation)

I avoided an iPhone or an iTouch because I didn't think it would be
easy to tap and change song/volume the way it is on my iPod because of
lack of tactile feedback as to where you were on the surface of the
    thing.

    That's not so?

Hrm.. So to switch you need an extra doover.
    Yours is unlocked?

Optus is going to sell iPhones in Oz. As they have just given me an
E65 I doubt they'll give me an iPhone, just as I doubt they'll pay for
    the data.

I suspect I'll stick with the current 3 - phone, Nokia N800, iPod.
All do their thing well, so far anything that's a combination does one
thing well and one thing badly.

As best as I can tell, yes. But, you're wearing headphones
    already, right?
    Is there another kind? :)

(I got mine from the US about 6-8 months ago. To date, unlocked
(be it by software or by one of those wacky sim overlay things) is
the only way to make one work in Australia.)

I think that now would be a dumb time to buy an iPhone anyway. Wait
and see what will be offered here in Australia first, and probably
wait until that (if it's the new 3G, GPS, etc model that's rumoured)
has been unlocked. At about the time you current contract expires,
things ought to have matured nicely!

Oh when I say "gave" I mean it. THey buy the handset and pay my bills :)

Yes, I think buying one this year would be bad. Although given that
the cost of data in Oz is going to be high for a while because it's
the next cash cow (as mobiles aren't since caps came it) I don't think
it will matter if you get a non-3G one.

thinner gloves or a thinner jacket. I can change volume on my video
ipod using my summer gloves through the aerostich pocket or the mesh
jacket pocket. Doubt it will work through leather jacket pockets.
