Oh, Champ has plenty of national pride. He's just embarrassed by the sort
of arseholes who make a big deal of it and use it to help promulgate
obscene opinions, so he tries to hide it.

Well yes: many people know that all to well. The important question is:
will it be a thing of the future?

No, this is the first time you've posted your objection to fora; or at
    least the first I've seen.

It may be incorrect Latin, I wouldn't know since I don't know any Latin.
    I'll leave that to others.

The fact is though, whether the root is right or wrong it's in common
usage and as such 'fora' is as valid as 'forums' a fact that you are
    well aware of.

Don't know yet. I don't really miss it, but I'm not sure I want to be a
teetotaller for ever - has such awful associations in my mind.

I don't think you can ever fully trust a man that doesn't drink.

That's right. And I don't want that air of sneering and disapproval of
all things that is so often evident with teetotallers. Oh, hang on -
    I've got that already.

sure, but you're not even close to affecting an air of
    holier-than-thou sanctimonious wankerdom.

It is not like being an ex smoker. Unlike our brothers and sisters with
overly sensitive noses us non boozers are amazingly tolerant of all the
    pissheads.[1]

[1] Except marketing and sales management types who drink too excess at
lunchtimes and then drive home still pissed after sending out memos
about how they are going to introduce drugs testing for the telephonists
    in their employ.
