    Yes I did miss it.
The "low" prices spoken about in the opening post seem higher than in
Perth perhaps because they are not the product of a fuelwatch.
I don't know what prices are in NSW.

110.9 today at our local Gold Coast SE Qld BP.
Qld is supposed to be about 8 cents cheaper due to the more favourable system.

    Brisbane was 102.1

We only buy BP Ultimate and that price, SE Qld GC today was 124.9

    http://www.theage.com.au/national/say-goodbye-to-1alitre-petrol-for-now-20090127-7r06.html

Say goodbye to $1-a-litre petrol for now. The days of petrol at $1 a
litre have come to an end.
    - Weak dollar forces prices up
    - $1-a-litre 'well and truly on its way out'

Oh well. At least we're less affected by the see-sawing prices.

Not sure what your point is. What is Qld's "favourable system"? Perth
prices seem about the same perhaps slightly lower with fuelwatch.

Where the rest of Australia pays us some of their share of the GST
revenue and the Govt gives it to the fuel companies so that the fuel
prices are(well they are supposed to be) cheaper to the tune of about 8.3cpl

so QLD fuel prices should be at least 8cpl cheaper than the rest of the
    country
we also don't have a state fuel tax

Hmm, never heard of that. I thought Qld & WA contributed more in GST
than they get back and no state had a fuel tax.

    | Hmm, never heard of that. I thought Qld & WA contributed more in GST
    | than they get back and no state had a fuel tax.

Capt Bligh is considering scrapping the fuel rebate because (wait for it)
"It is too difficult to administer"
(after they were going to provide a swipe card, or use a drivers licence
to ensure that only Queenslanders got the rebate) :)

Another Labor party initiative to ensure that all is fair :)

BTW Mr foolwatch has cocked up again. ULP last week was .99c, today it's
    $1.19 (Bne)

  14. You have been sprung as the urban terrorist, they charge you double because
of that, while the locals get charged 99 cents.

  15. Well, I don't really know, but when I was in Brisbane last week, I got
    unleaded at 83 cents a litre, ( with a discount )
    the E10 was 84 cents

Having lived here for 12 years, I don't think I am a tourist any more.
'Terrorist' is local parlance for tourist. However I must ask how is
    113/2 = 99 ??

    Yeebok, Jan 28, 2009

  17. You are a blow-in to the locals and it usually takes at least 15 years
before they even consider you to qualify as a local
I am old enough to know that the word terrorist has been used for a lot
    longer than you can remember.

    However I must ask, What the **** is 113/2 = 99 about ?

    Well I said $1.13/l.
You said "They charge you double and charge the locals 99c".
    Just to clarify.

    Yeebok, Jan 28, 2009

  19. It's simple arithmetic, Yeebok. They charge you double and the locals
1.75 times. No wonder poor old George is confused.

Now. That I seem to have introduced you to the wonders of bottom
posting, can I introduce the idea of *not* cross posting?

Particularly to aus.cars. You could probably cross post to aus.food
without doing any harm at all.

    Deception bay is always cheap
