Mugged!

I've waited a few days before posting this.

Number One Son was mugged after school on Monday. There's a nasty
estate[1] by the school; the Roundshaw. This is Purley, near Croydon.

Anyway, he was heading for the bus stop with other kids, realised he'd
forgotten his guitar, went back for it, and when he got back to the bus
stop he was on his own and he got jumped by eight teenage fuckers who
hammered him and gave him a right old kicking. And I do mean kicking,
once they'd got him on the deck.

They were after his mobile, which he didn't have with him. They grabbed
his calculator, and then threw it on the deck before legging it.

Woman saw it, called Plod, etc etc. Sum total - bruised and swollen
face, cut on head, no bones broken. Plod treating it as attempted
robbery, and he's giving a statement (by video - wtf?) at the moment..

Thing is, that some kids nearby saw it and obviously knew the perps
because one of them said: "oooh, Spencer 'it 'im really 'ard..." or
words to that effect.

OK. Assuming that Plod achieves nothing, who has a practical suggestion
to ensure, um, redress?

Just make sure he doesn't get self absorbed or worried about being in
that location. It's a natural reaction but he needs to be confident
enough to be able to walk around without being terrified of being
attacked. I know that's how I was for a fair while after I'd got
attacked.

The Goldwing and Blingmobile tour the estate playing the most horrendous
music they can find at full blast. When the inevitable trouble breaks
out the rest of the ukrm turn up and kill [1] the 8 teenagers.

Seriously though, you've got to be VERY careful you don't make it worse for
your kid. Good luck.

 

This is one of the most effective ways of dealing with people like this,
who don't play by the rules like us nice fluffy people. It is very
important not to say a word though, it has much more of an effect.

Followed up by removal of sim card from *their* mobile, (which you could
stamp on), for further info on associates.

Don't bother with the ski-mask, let the little fucker see your face and
the pleasure you're getting from battering the little **** senseless.
Have an absolutely rock-solid alibi though and do not leave any of your
DNA at the scene. Use carbon knuckled bike gloves and an old bolier
suit and burn them afterwards somewhere well away from your house. A
piece of 4x2 hefted across the shoulders is enough to disable them in
the first place.

Sory to hear it, I reckon he should be able to bounce back, I have yet to
see anything trouble him for long.

Speaking from experience, and not just the head->brick interface. As much
as you want to get the fuckers, the chances of getting *exactly* the right
ones is possibly minimal. If you go vigilante, you may get the wrong bod
and then you are no better.

Jean and I were attacked when I was 17 and she was still 15 by a gang of
10. I took the brunt of it while she escaped. I was only able to ID 3 of
them and was very bitter for a long time after wards of what I would do
given the chance, after a few years you realise the futility of it.

Due to the age of the kids concerned (sounds low teens) it is best to
leave it to Jaime and his mates, if any of them are up to it they need to
do what is required. If you do owt and get fingered you will be in deep
shit.

 

Roundshaw! What a toilet. I went to John Fisher School in Purley and our
playing fields backed onto that shithole. I got beaten/robbed of my new
pushbike on my birthday on the wau home across the old airport by some scum
from there.

Lucky they didn't stck a blade in him too. They seem to enjoy that.

No easy way. They obviously know which school he goes to and it would only
be a matter of time before they got him again, no matter what form the
'redress' takes. Get him in to TKD classes! Then tell him and his mates to
'return the favour'?

Well, after doing him over, they went down the road, into a local shop
and were caught on CCTV shoplifting. Rozzers have the film.

Rozzers now have IDs and names, and they've got form, insofar as
teenagers can have.

Jamie may have to do an identity parade. We wait and see.
