Just been for my first ever ride out with 2 mates (1 experienced bloke-New
R6, with his newbie GF-2nd hand Fazer, plus me, female friend of both-`95
Blade,1yr on from getting back to bikes after 15yrs) , what a great Sunday
that was! Travelled up to theirs near Preston, from Chester on the Saturday,
avoiding motorways, because I wanted to take my time and enjoy the journey.
Took longer than I expected though, around 2.5hrs for the 60-odd miles, but
thats what you get for taking the urban riding route..
Sunday was gloriously sunny, as forecast, so off we set at 10am, up to
Lancaster, over to Kirby Lonsdale for a quick coffee and loo stop, before
starting again and picking up the A683/4 top road to Hawes where I was
confronted by an absolute *horde* of bikes! Carried on towards Ripon,
stopping on the way at Masham for a pub lunch/ease the kinks out/swap
stories of how we felt we had done so far/dry out our sweaty bodies under
the leathers, then we ended up doing Harrogate, Wetherby(which we visited 3
times, trying to get out the place!), Tadcaster, before visiting Squire`s
pub near Sherburn in Elmet-LOADS of bikes there and it was still blazing hot
too..Was impressed by the place, shame we didn`t get there in time to look
at the accessories shop round the back.

We were fairly knackered by then, so decided to shoot up the A1/M1 and take
the A59 straight back to Preston, and we got back at 9.30pm!! I learnt a
great deal, following Steve, who has done the IAM course, watching where he
took his lines on cornering, how to overtake and have confidence in doing
so, (when it was safe for me and not blindly following him, though), and
generally getting used to the bike properly, working through the gears and
getting into `bike` mode` reading the road ahead watching out for roadkill,
numptys walking dogs, other bikes and traffic, etc , etc. It was all tiring
stuff, but good fun too. Can`t wait till next time now, although it might be
    a shorter route!!

I came away with just one wish though; where can I get a more comfy seat for
my `Blade? Its not a Sports `Tourer`, I know, but I wish it was a bit more
`posterior friendly` as my arse was so sore each time we stopped!! I have
Googled & found the site below, but its in the US, and doesnt even cover the
BabyBlade.. Anyone got any suggestions, or will I have to live with it &
become rufty tufty with experience?? (or tie a towel round my bum)

Cheers for any ideas, however whacky..

Cheers for that, guess I will have to `harden up` some...

We were generally law-abiding riders yesterday, mainly I reckon cos Steve
had his GF with him & didn`t want to scare her by going too OTT.. Although
at one point, his R6 shot past me on a straight (he wanted to relieve some
stress, I reckon) and I could swear it was rocket propelled, the
acceleration on it was phenomenal! There was no way we could catch him on
    that..

there were a fair few hot bods there, to be sure, it was a gorgeous day and
I`m glad we made the effort, even tho it was a long ride! right, I`m off to
work where I can`t post anymore :(, just read via Google and count the aches
& pains & grin all over again. Have a good day, all..

Nice to see you had a good time )
Oddly enough, I never had any problem with the seat on the ZXR400,
which was basically a pad. But perhaps I've got a bit more padding on
    my bum than you..

Have you tried posting the question to the 400greybike forum?
