    Hiya Gerry,

Yep, the headlight is still there somewhere, at the bottom of bloody
    Macquarie Pass...

Next bike will be another SV, I expect - my short-arse seat and my Yoshi
pipe are sitting at the bike dealership, just waiting for a new SV to go on
:) The insurance money is sitting in the bank gathering interest, and I'm
sitting on my bum waiting for everything to mend.

Had another x-ray today. Pelvis is healing - slowly... my 'will be riding
again by June 1' assertion was perhaps a bit optimistic. Older bones heal
    slowly. Bugger...

    Hey Betty

Sorry - I've been out of circulation for quite a while and am just
getting back into life - I didn't even know you'd had an "off".

Heal quickly - I'll raise a glass of El Jimador to your health this evening.

    Nigel.

    Ta Nigel :)

Yeah, didn't make a big deal of this one, coz it was a proper off and I got
sort of properly hurt, and couldn't stand the thought of the ribbing I
thought I might get if I mentioned having fallen off again - even though I
didn't break a single lever this time, ha ha ha!

Fractured the most embarrassing bit of my pelvis - the pubic bone *sheesh* -
and battered my legs a bit, but hey, I could've ended up at the bottom of
the Pass, along with my missing headlight, so I actually feel pretty lucky.
Shame about the bike though - I really really liked it.

It'll be 8 weeks this Saturday - not really very long in the Grand Scheme of
things (I keep thinking of poor Deevo in WA, and how broken he STILL is,
after over a year) - but I can't help being impatient!

In the meantime, I suppose I'll just keep having that medicinal red wine
while I wait for the knitting to finish - cheers!!!

Think yourself very lucky - having been single for the last twelve
months (again!) I'd give my left one to get the chance to fracture my
    pubic bone these days.

    Oh wait a minute......

    In a crash.......

    Mumble....mumble,,,,drink,,,,

Ouch Betty! I had no idea you'd had an off at all either. So you had
yours about 2 weeks before I dropped mine and did my elbow :|

Get well soon - I know you'll miss being on your SV. Definitely didn't
hurt your sense of humour, I laughed at the lever comment.

I guess they didn't take the time to have a look at the FRONT of the bike!

LOL, yeah - that made me laugh! It took three or four strong blokes to
manhandle it from the ledge to the trailer, with those farked forks fighting
    them all the way!

Perhaps Madam might consider purchasing more wheels ?
I remember the learning curve is steep the first 20 years but you seem
    a little unlucky/clumsy ?

I was suggesting more than two wheels , perhaps some small training
    wheels for stopping ? :p
well that happens when you get over 40 and slows more over 50
but drugs help , mmm cortisone

I sometimes think that these bike resale places have no idea what
crashed bikes are worth, they almost always seem to be asking way more
than what people should be paying.

Looking at the damage I suspect you're lucking you weren't hurt worse Betty!

Keep up the healing thing. It's good stuff.

Given the region of your injury, all manner of inappropriate humour is
screaming inside my mind, trying to get out. But I won't let it!
