Ed, do not pick that bike up tomorrow. It is going to be extremely windy.
    You won't like it.

If you want I can go pick it up and ride it until the winds subside, I don't
    mind.

Todays the day..call me when you and Louie pick up that bike. I may
have to sneak out of here a little early today. I rode the Sliver One
to work. Here we go with those attendence problems my boss warned me
    about.

That's the exact reason why I won't finance a motorcycle. It seems
like everytime you finance one, they hike the interest rates sky high.
Sometimes you just have to finance to get what you want, but eating
beans and cutting back on other toys for a while sure makes a
difference in getting what you want without financing. You might not
get the bike when you want it, but it's better in the end to read that
title and know those payments aren't coming due when you get used to
    riding it.

I ain't gonna finance even one more bike. Damn things are worn out by the
time I'm finished with the payments.

Springer...and it's all wore out with about a half a million miles,
been wrecked and has some old shoddy tail light on it....and doesn't
    even belong to you!

Can I have that tail light? :)

I asked my wife.Ck. or finance. She said finance because the taxes are not
done yet.I paid cash for both roadstars.I could write a ck for the
venture. The bottom line is I will not be held hostage over intrest
rates. When returns on investments comes up,Hell I'll pay the intrest.I will
make it also.I ride at the back, because I CAN.

In light of the problems with financing that beautiful piece of machinery..
    I'll
add my two cents worth.. The low interest offerings by the one shot finance
resources that most dealers offer, is nothing more than a comeon.. It is a
bait and switch to get customers to get all fevered up.. Chances are, that
dealer.. if he follows the pattern.. will now make available an alternate
    finance
plan with much higher interest rates.. While you have the fever to buy that
motorcycle, the average buyer will usually jump at the chance to ride the
machine of his dreams.. Don't fall for it..

Besides.. I'm not that familiar with all the models offered in the Yamaha
Venture line, but the one I'd select would be the one that has the cruiser
    look
Without all the fairing, touring trunks and bags.. That is undoubtedly the
    best
looking of the line, when it is detailed the right way.. Take a look..

Good luck to you.. I'm sure it will work out ..

You are 10000% right.I was expecting that from them anyway.I have bought too
many vehicles in my life.Learned that at an early age. When the guy told me
he could get me financed at 14%,well,for those that don't know me,let me
    explain.
I am only 52.Been doing my own thing in some words for nearly 40 years
now.My years and experiences at times prevent me from holding back the
    truth.
To continue now.I held back.I just said "**** Up,ant't no way I will deal
    with assholes like that".
Should of told them to eat fish heads, but I didn't want to lower myself to
    their standards.

That dealer kind of reminds me of Sammy White Kawasaki over here in
Irving.. Been knowing that asshole for thirty years.. I tried to do business
with him for a long time.. He's a pretty decent old boy, but some of his
    help
are nothing but shitheads .. without any first hand knowledge about motor-
cycles or the people who ride them.. The law enforcement contracts are
all that keeps that dealership alive..

<chuckle> As you know.. I don't hold back much.. and when a dealership
is trying to get over on me.. I usually give it to them with both barrels..
    hmm
Been kicked out of a few of those places because they didn't like it.. I'm
generally respected in the dealerships around the area and have visited with
most of them, over the years..

I've never been in a position to pay cash for such a high cost item .. like
    a
pickup or a top of the line motorcycle, so when I ask for financing in a
    deal-
ship and they hand me one of the brochures for their manufacturer finance
plans, I'll ask for another alternate lender.. If the dealer doesn't have
    access
to more than one lender.. he's not going to be in business long, anyway..

I'd recommend the Yamaha dealer in Irving at 183 and O'Connor.. I don't
know much about those guys, but my limited exposure with them was sure
favorable.. Like any other dealer, they bear watching closely..

    Cool Beans Ed!

    Now let's talk accessories.

First on my list would be Kuryakin offset foot pegs:
    http://tinyurl.com/yrvzcf
They'll fit nicely on the engine guards allowing you to stretch out
    while on the road.

Second on the list would be a Utopia back rest
    http://tinyurl.com/ywxjkx

Now don't be buying the Yamaha CD player. They'll charge you $500.00 +
for a $100.00 Clarion changer. Actually few Venture riders bother with
the CD changer. We use an MP3. You can plug the MP3 in the auxiliary
input inside the cassette door or better yet add a splitter to the aux
    line inside the fairing.

Driving lamps have to be high on the list. Aside from making the bike
more visible, they help break up the expanse of the fairing.

Unless you are a really tall guy a shorter windshield might be on your
list. Once again stay away from Yamaha stuff. Showchrome makes a 13"
windshield for under a hundred bucks.

For added chrome you can get chrome side covers, saddlebag rails or a
trunk rack. Or in lieu of the rack you can use the top of the trunk as
    a canvas:

I'm just having some fun with ya Ed. Enjoy the new ride.
