Clearly time for red to rise up and push the rest into the sea. Beats me
how you can live in a state which really elected fineswine and
    box-o-turds to the Senate.

  5. They predict that if the San Andreas fault hits big the blue will break off
and California will be all red... however in the interim we got Arnold ram
roding the whole mess... that fine for this native born in San Francisco
1948... the rush to go west is still strong so every time the country tilts
on end everything loose falls into California...

  6. You mean when he suggested drilling for oil in the arctic as a solution
to an electricity and natural gas crisis in the western states ?

That did seem kinda like one of them non-sequitors now that I think
    about it.

  8. That would mean that the red states would then have to quit
feeding off the tax revenues collected from the blue states.

Maybe, if all the Democrates emigrate...

As the maps indicate, the counties with people in them went heavily
Democratic, except for San Diego, Orange and Ventura. The only
significant shift in the maps is that the relatively unpopulated
counties of Alpine and Mono switched from Republican to Democrat. Even
predominantly rural agrarian San Benito county went pretty heavily
    Democratic.

It's a pity the rest of the US depends on us so heavily for everything
under the sun that we can't secede...

No, it was when he was still chummy with "Kenny-Boy" Lay and Enron,
letting them write his energy policy, while refusing to meet with our
    elected representatives.
After all, it isn't like we don't produce gas and oil in this state.

Hey Charles you still taking donations to Kerrys campaign? A bit of
info for you just in case you haven't heard. Bush won! :) Enjoy the
next four years. Hey why not start a fund raiser for the next
Democrat candidate? Donate to Hillary Clinton's presidential
campaign. Just think by the time the next election rolls around you
    may have at least $100.00

  13. We get back about 78 cents on the dollar, federal spending vs. federal taxes.

  15. California its the opposite, we ante up for a dollar's worth, but get
    $.78 back.

In one of the delicious ironies of modern politics, the "Small
Government" republican party is the party of pork these days, as most
red-states are net-influx of federal dollars (they get back more than
they give), while most blue states are net-outflow (we get back less
    than we give).

(After a chorus of whining little girls):

AM: It's a pity the rest of the US depends on us so heavily for everything

I'm pretty sure most of America would be quite happy if both coasts simply
disappeared under a convenient tsunami. Florida, Vermont, New York,
California--MIP!!* Radicals, who needs 'em? Let's get on with technology
and modernity. The SF skinheads were talking about CA succession in the
mid-eighties in CA and I don't recall your support. Funny how a bunch of
lefty urban bikers (lubbies)ends up bragging about lap times on tracks in
the CA valley that wouldn't even exist if they had their enviro-fascist
    ways.

It's is not ba.motorcycles.socialism just yet

  18. Lots of states ante up a dollar and get anywhere up to two dollars back.
Your state just happens to be on the giving end of the equation. You think
they stash the money away in a cave or something ?

You might want to check up on which states receive back what
proportion of the money they pay out in Federal taxes. I note that the
places that talk the most about too much government are the ones that
seem to get the most money back. California gets back 0.74 of what it
puts in. That's substantially lower than average. As recently as 1990,
the number was 0.90 for California.
