MythTV distributions

What's flavour of the month? I've had a go with mythbuntu (nowhere near
normal Ubuntu in terms of development) and mythdora and not found either to
work anything like straight out of the box. Is it a case of whatever distro
I go for, I'll have to learn the ins and outs of mythTV or does something
like knoppdora actually do what it says on the tin?

 

Surely XMLTV does this without too much stress? I know nothing about
MythTV, but used XMLTV as the EPG for GBPVR for the last 3 years
without any probs.

 

Sure - the descriptions I get from the RT web site via XMLTV are just
fine, I think.

 

Will do. Install is the simple thing. At present I'm struggling to get the
remote working, watch TV some of the time, get the TV output the right size
and resolution to fit on the telly screen etc...
