#05NR09 - NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION: Lautenberg to Propose Amendment

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) has learned that Senator Frank
Lautenberg (D-N.J) is planning to offer an amendment to the MRF's
    Motorcycle
Safety Language contained in the highway bill HR 3. The MRF has received
    an
advanced copy of Sen. Lautenberg’s proposed amendment. It would
    penalize, or
prohibit, any state without a mandatory helmet law from participation in
    the
grant process for monies designated for motorcycle training and
    awareness.
This amendment could be offered as soon as tomorrow, May 9th.

"Sen. Lautenberg has a long history of seeking avenues to institute a
national helmet law." said Jeff Hennie, MRF Vice-President of Government
Relations. "Every rider must act now."

"The MRF considers helmet laws to be a state issue, and certainly stand
alone from rider training. To hold states ransom, or keep them from
receiving much needed revenue for training is reprehensible." said MRF
President Karen Bolin. "I have absolute faith that motorcyclists
    nationwide
    will defeat this amendment."

The MRF is calling on ALL riders to call your senators immediately and
    urge
them to vote NO on the Lautenberg amendment that would tie a state helmet
law to funding for motorcycle safety training.

There is no time for letters. CALLS are needed NOW. The Lautenberg
    amendment MUST be defeated.

  2. not exactly; this is more along the lines of the seatbelt law where the
state must have mandatory seatbelt requirements to qualify for federal
highway funds. in this case, it appears to be an attempt to tie federal
funds for rider education to a mandatory wearing of the helmet law by
the state. no mandatory helmet law, no federal rider education funding.
pretty standard fed approach, squeeze the money, and it only affects
those state that have no mandatory helmet law.

No it's just that Brian is too STUPID to realize
that MRF has been around far longer than TRMAII.
The later has been riding on the coattails of the
MRF and AMA's achievements from the inception of
TRMAII. Don't let welfare riders like Brian
confuse you...welfare whores like him always lie
    and whine the loudest.

hmmm... Ain't all this something.? ROTFLMAO.. How about this ? Here is a
post from a poster boy of welfare riders, everywhere.. posting some kind of
post about a "Helmet Law" being passed in Washington.. Where the hell have
    you been, fool ?

Your contempt for TMRA II .. ABATE and other motorcycle advocacy groups in
Texas, makes this post of yours crazier than anyone can imagine that you'd
    pull..

Nope... you .. John Moran and this idiot in Montana are welfare riders.. MRF
is an advocacy group ..You don't even know what that means, much less
support it... ROTFL... The very idea that John Moran, you or Keith Shiftless
would post or comment on a newspaper article like this is ludicrous.. not to
    mention stupid..

Not speaking for Brian.. Fence Jumper.. TMRA II have worked with any
motorcycle advocacy group in this country.. Our chair has worked with most
of them to help them organize and set up their own groups in various
    states..

Nah.. you aren't "clueless".. you just don't have enough backbone to stand
up for your own interests You've enjoyed the freedom and liberty to ride
your motorcycle with pride and dignity, for years.. Your disrespect for the
ones who've fought for and defended all that, for you .. is remarkable and
    to be truthful, contemptible..

You.. John Moran, Albert Nurick and a few others on this newsgroup are like
the foolish dogs that bites the hand the feeds them..

  7. The Walkers show their stupidity again but that's nothing new izzit.

The MRF was organized in 1987 (http://www.mrf.org/history_mrf.php),
5 YEARS BEFORE TMRA2, which was started in 1992.

Guess the Wankers are the real Welfare Riders after all, being at least
5 years late to the motorcycle rights movement. they probably haven't
called either Tx senator and instead spent their time this morning
bashing others. back into the bit bucket for them. <plonk>

talk to me about "lack of respect"... When I get hard up enough to NEED
respect from you clowns, that's when they'll be shoveling dirt over my cold,

Holy Shit, Bill. This is exactly what people are talking about when they
say you are your own worst enemy. God forbid that someone attempts to draw
attention to an issue that you and your precious TMRAII or ABATE are
involved in, without your "permission". Noooooo, it's not enough that he's
trying to do "something", he simply MUST be involved your way or he's a
"welfare rider". You wonder why you get a resounding **** You whenever you
rub issues in peoples faces the way you do? This is why, Billy boy....Like
I said, you do more harm than good as a representative of the above groups.
People are put off by your attitude and your constant bullshit. And, I'll
bet the reason behind those Bills you mentioned in your last post not
getting passed (or having a tough time of it) has alot to do with your big
mouth and shitty attitude. The sooner that the powers that be at TMRAII and
ABATE realize this, and shed themselves of your ilk, the better.
