Drove through the National Park today from Stanwell Park to Loftus and
the road had lots of moss on it, looked very slippery. There are also
road works between the entrance near Loftus and the exit to Waterfall.
For a few KMs the road surface is gravel, small rocks and lots of pottholes.

Just a warning for fellow riders! Keep the rubber side down.

I know a few roads which are on the shady sides of hills which receive
no wintertime sunlight and get a green mossy look to them, but I've
never actually felt like the bike had any less traction on that surface
than any other. Maybe it would make a difference if the surface was
completely smooth underneath, but I think the moss is only growing in
the cracks in the bitumen surface, rather than over the whole contact
    surface, although YMMV.
