One of the stories that was headlined last evening was the reported "crisis"
and public awareness expose' type stories about motorcycles.. The hype and
buildup of the story was clipped all day, to prepare everyone to watch it..
There were many references to the middle aged riders that are dying and/or
killing themselves on public roadways.. The commentary during the actual
newscast only included a couple of brief clips showing a very impressive
GoldWing motorcycle.. There was some pictures of a 41 year old son, with his
family, and the interview with his mother.. We've all heard the horror
stories of sons, brothers and friends who've been killed on motorcycles..
Understandably.. the survivors are not keen on motorcycles..

The main footage that was aired, seemed to target the sport bikers and stunt
riders. Whether we ride a sport bike, cruiser or a touring bike.. when our
media targets any one of the two wheeled marvels of the highways, there is
something going on.. that we should all be concerned about.. Local media has
reported various stories recently and depicted the sports bikes as extremely
dangerous to the public.. What's up with all that ? And, what's next ?

Red flags should be going up all over the place.. No one seems to notice..
Pay attention .. people.. The public is being conditioned to accept severe
and strict restrictions on specific motorcycles allowed to use public
    streets and highways..

This phenomenon has been coming at us for a number of years.. Legislation
and regulations coming from various government agencies that regulate and
restict, are already on the books and only awaiting the proper time to be
enforced.. If you need all this to be explained to you, you don't get it,
    anyway..

Current EPA regulations are in place, to make mine and many other
motorcycles, illegal to operate on public thorofares.. Just another
"Conspiracy Theory".. not hardly.. Legislation and Regulations are already
in place to park our motorcycles.. The public just hasn't been conditioned
to tolerate enforcement at this time..

The targets that are currently being aired, seems to be the sport bikes and
the stunters who ride them.. You guys should be extremely concerned by what
you are seeing unfold on television and other media.. When traffic
enforcement commences to enforce the tools already available to them, it
will be too late.. You'll be hauling those motorcycles to the areas that
you'll be allowed to ride them..

Many of the motorcycle advocacy groups have been opposing and petitioning
our government for years.. They've stood their ground and successfully kept
all of us reasonably free.. Whether you ride a tourer, cruiser or a sport
bike, the attacks on one class, is an attack on all of us.. Whether you are
twenty or eighty, when one group goes down, the other groups will follow..
Whether you wear a helmet or not.. when one group is forced by law to be in
compliance, we all lose.. One voice will not be noticed, many voices will be
heard.. Maybe it is time for all of us to decide which advocacy group we
become associated with, before we are all legislated into extinction..

??? My 2003 is CARB 2008 certified. That means even if the Fed (EPA)
adopts CARB standards with their typical delay that it would still meet
2010 (at least) standards; more likely 2015. By that time it'll be ready
to be traded in for something newer and faster.

Junkers that can't meet air quality standard should be put on the show
circuit. Older bikes can be spruced up to pass those standards with the
installation of an after market EFI system just like "classic" cars can be.

Seems a real tempest in a tea pot to everyone except those who choose to
keep an old beater maintained barely above the breaking down point.

Various advocacy groups have addressed clubs and other entities who should
be concerned.. Those clubs and other entities have been invited to
participate with the motorcyclists advocates, provide input and to help with
ideas. Many have declined and expressed indifference.. The sport bikers and
stunters have outright rejected invitations to become involved.. There have
been many expressions of defiance, independence and downright contempt, for
the efforts being made by the advocacy groups..

Right .. Wrong.. or Indifferent.. those efforts by TMRA II, ABATE and other
motorcycle advocacy groups are made in good faith and with the aim to affect
the best interests of ALL riders..

Unless bikers of every stripe become involved, don't talk to me about being
"smart".. Input has been solicited from the independents and clubs.. All
have been invited, and welcomed to participate and contribute to the "smart
action".. After the "fact", all the "smart action" suggestions are useless..
Either get involved and contribute those ideas when they can be effective,
or shut the **** up.. Hindsight is 20/20.. but.. it can only be uselful for
    future reference..
LOL... The prospect of pissing anyone off, isn't the issue.. Ensuring that
we can continue to enjoy our motorcycles with the freedom that we've known
will require that we, ourselves .. contribute in some manner, to the men and
women who carry on the fight for those freedoms. This is not a spectator
sport.. Critical comments of "smart action" are impressive and self
serving.. What are those "smart actions" which you suggest.. Why don't you
make them to the ones you criticize ? Why don't you make them in timely
fashion, so they can be considered and utilized ?

I am "driving" at the usenet comments that have been made and the ones that
continue to be made, that are critical of motorcycle advocacy organizations,
the men and women who are involved and work very hard to assure that all of
us can continue to ride and enjoy the motorcycles of our choice..

You are right .. it has been a very long and worrisome week.. I read
complaints about bickering .. insults.. flame wars , etc. etc. Then .. a
response to a post that isn't intended to inflame anyone, and you post some
left handed comment about some "smart" action that should be taken ..

You have had the opportunity to provide your input and contribute.. No one
has "twisted your arm" for support or to "join" anything.. That has to be
YOUR choice.. Meantime.. comments about "smart action" are not well received
by me.. Many of us have agreed and decided on the courses of action that
must be taken.. If you'd like for your opinions and ideas to be evaluated
and considered, that means you must get involved.. After the fact criticism
isn't warranted nor is it welcomed by me..

It is "incoherent" only to another of the Welfare Rider poster boys..
Fullstate is a friend of mine.. since the comments were directed to him,
from me.. you wouldn't be expected to understand.. Besides.. you have never
done anything to warrant ANY consideration for criticisms which you have
directed to the men and women who actually do make a difference.. STFU..

There you have it....proof that, even if you're an alleged "friend" of the
Walker's, they'll turn on ya in a heartbeat if you disagree with them or
hold a different viewpoint. What assholes.

He's already my bitch....but, he's kind of a sicko. He enjoys having his
nose rubbed in his own feces, public humiliation, playing NetKop while
wearing Belinda's lingerie. Ugh, it's really disgusting - almost like
humiliating a Walker, only waaaay easier.

''We all ride''because we love to ride. Whether it's for the ride
itself, the comraderie of our buds, or simply to pose on our bad-ass
bikes so that we can claim a little attention. We are all affected by
the issues at hand. I applaud you for trying to make those known to
people that would otherwise not have a clue about it until it's too
late. I have always agreed with the philosophy of "if you don't attempt
to make a difference through your vote or actions then you don't have
any grounds to complain." But, I do not appreciate a verbal tongue
    lashing just because
you feel I may not being enough to support your cause..
    - -
Now, if that doesn't get your goat.....then I'll be home on the 20th. I
may not get much riding in while I am here as I have to put my bike in
the shop for a new chain, and fork oil. I'll also be doing some mods to
it for my trip.... BUT.... there is a catfish place up near Wichita
Falls that we could hit. I am going to probably leave on Sunday of
Memorial Day weekend and head right up US287. Kind of a boring ride, but
the company would be welcome for as long as anyone wants to hang.

Not only that,(iggy) and MK, they just might get together and Ride, the

Hmmm... Not sure what will be going on for that weekend, Fullstate.. but

Things have sure been "cranky" around here, and my tolerance level hasn't
