I might able to get there at the weekend, with a friend, but could
only blag one pass; any ideas on the viability of paying at the door?
    I realise it'll be dearer than a pre-booked ticket.

I've payed on the door every time I've gone. Just talk slowly and
they should be able to translate your northerneese to Brummy and sell
    you a ticket.

They are selling tickets online at "on the door prices"

I doubt they are going to sell out anyway. They were even advertising that
preview day tickets would be available on the door.

If you are anxious then get your mate to log onto the above and buy his
ticket before you set off on Sat/Sun

Judging by the queues at the ticket office whenever we go it's a
    popular option.

Hence the "it'll be dearer" bit, was just wondering if it'll be
ridiculously over-priced or not (cue usual ukrm bike show arguments).

My brain is temporarily on reduced functioning due to a slight viral
infection leaving me feeling like I've been on a 16-pint bender. It's
taken me twice as long as it should just to type this, as I can't
    remember where the keys are...

IIRC the cost is the same and I never queued for long.

I enjoyed the show. The Carol Nash bike line up is unchanging and so is
boring but some of the manufacturer stands were great and there was
plenty of retail therapy. I wouldn't go except for my son mindewe, for
    cost/return reasons.

Perhaps you should listen to Cross Incontinents on Radio Four.

I used to go with a mate who work for a magazine that Trades Autos.
He would take one pass and go in, then 10 minutes later come back to
the gate and leave the pass with someone with a note on oit with my
name on. Then he'd go back to the stand and phone me and I'd come and
    "collect" the pass.

I'm glad we did the Milan show because rumour has it that the RSV4
isn't at the NEC and it was worth a look even if all that look did was
    make me even more undecided.

    I didn't see it anyway.

The MV's seem a lot of money and didn't have Ohlins forks that I
    noticed.

The Gixxer 1000 on the Suzuki stand was really rather nice.

Was there even the slightest of hints on either the Morini or Gilera
stands at Milan that the Oberdan Bezzi 'designed' super sports bike pipe
dreams might be more than that?

Though I'm guessing you probably didn't go to either.

We visited every stand but if there wasn't an actual bike there I
wouldn't know because of my inability to read the press releases. They
did have some kind of an MGP derived concept bike on the Honda stand
but I didn't really take much notice because of my natural aversion to
    all things Honda.
