You need to send a copy of this to all the bike mags and the Bike Show
organisers. It sums up British bike shows quite well

No idea, watched the mini moto carnage instead, which was much funnier.

I'd rather a pipe and slippers than an "I ride like a twat" t-shirt,
some fluffy ears for my race rep lid and a tiny number plate with a
    hilarious slogan on the bottom.

    Motorcycling needs to evolve.

I think the word "stale" sums it up best.

I think the UK needs to have shows like the NEC where you can go and
buy a load of old tat, ogle the scantily clad totty and get pissed but
it could also do with something along the lines of the Milan show
where the manufacturers want to give new models there first public
showing without the risk of someone puking on it.

Maybe if the UK was one of the biggest markets we might see something
more along those lines but while we're a sports bike orientated market
and the punters fill the halls with shows in their existing format
    nothing will change.

I really enjoyed going to Milan last year because it was different to
the type of show we get here and we made a weekend of it but not
everyone can afford to throw that sort of money at going to look at
motorbikes and a lot of people from over here would cry because
there's very little to buy at the show.

My point is that this so called "individuality" no longer exists. It's
been, watered down, re-packaged by focus groups and sold back to the
masses. It's become just that, boring.

I must admit I like going to the show every couple of years or so.
It's a chance to have a really good look round most of the latest
bikes, and there are always some stalls worth a visit. My expectations
are no higher than that, so I'm rarely disappointed.

Why? Bikes are fun. I can't offhand think of anything that would make
    them more fun.

Hang on, I thought you'd done exactly that and didn't have a bike any
    more?

It needs to grow up into the current fucking times.

Some of it has, but all this fucking crap like fluffy ears & shit, they are
the motorcycling equivelant of fucking kiss me quick hats & others such
    cunty shite.

The first **** dressed as Santa that passes our house is gonna get
    catapulted with ball bearings.

No doubt I'll do exactly the same when I finally realise that smoking,
drinking and breaking the law on a regular basis aren't the sort of
thing I should be doing but being a bit slow on the uptake means it'll
probably be a few more years before I suss it out.

I can't remember the last time I saw someone wearing a crash helmet
with fluffy ears on so perhaps this desired evolution has already
started in the south and is just taking its time reaching the
    wastelands north of Watford Gap?

I do wonder if it's a poverty thing and they can't afford to buy a new
crash helmet or new leathers to replace their tired old Foggy replica
    ones?

Well, one of us has got into the 21st century :)

To be honest, it's normally fat **** women that have shit like that on.
It diverts the gaze away from the muffin top & arse like a dug up road.

    <yawn>

You're trying so hard you're missing the point I'm making by a country
mile, but in a funny way you're illustrating my point rather well.

I've no doubt you're a true rebel soul, a rider at the gates of non-
conformist oblivion who takes no prisoners.

The Triumph and the Norton stands seemed to understand what I'm
saying. They were both a breath of fresh air compared with the others
who were just selling carefully packed lifestyles.
