I never thought I'd say this about him, but I really feel sorry for the
    poor fucker.

Be extra nice to him when he gets home.

Nah, bike shows tend to bore me rigid.

    No.

Andy already has a very fast motorcycle and he's got even more
go-faster bits waiting to be fitted. Apparently the latest bits can be
expected to give significant gains throughout the rev range.

Aye not the nicest part of Scotland. Close to a lot of nice biking
country but I don't imagine your up there with the 10R.
    How much longer?

Have you paid for the latest bit yet?

Not yet. I've only been home for one evening and I won't be back for
about another 10 days. Two weekends worked on the refinery should pay
for more toys and a fair chunk of dyno time.

Ouch! Without a return journey home?

I was rather hoping to get over to the Sacred Land this week (and
suggest beer), but now I think not as I have to work in RD recovery with
a possible day trip to Brizzle.

I'd been aiming to get home this weekend but that seems to have been
blown away by a certain job being more than a few days behind
    schedule.
If you do get over then beers would be good. You'll have to get my new
phone number off Adie because apparently it's due to change on Friday.

A big bit of carbon fibre known as a high volume airbox. It's claimed
to give about another 8bhp at the back wheel and every little helps. I
need a Power Commander fitted to get it to run right and I'll either
leave fitting it until next years TT or pop over for a weekend early
    next spring.

Ah I wondered if that was it. You mentioned air flow after visiting
Slik. I'm sure the PC will be the dogs. Having a bike fuelling perfectly
right through the load range has to be A Good Thing.

It's already smack on right through the range but I can't alter
anything without the PC and fitting the new box will be too much for
the existing stuff to cope with.

The good thing is that Slick's got all the charts from when he was
doing Fozzies Superstock bike so there's no experimenting needed, all
I have to do is buy the bits and he sets the bike up to suit. He's got
enough contacts to get a second hand exhaust system because that's
how I got the airbox nice and cheap and now that the C1 & C2 models
are over a year 'out of date' ex race bits are becoming more
    available.

I know it's a stupid thing to be doing but in the long run the bike's
only a toy and if I decided to change it then I'd be looking at
spending a lot more money than I'll lash out on tuning it up a bit.
The only bike I'd really consider px'ing it against would be an MV and
they cost a lot of weekends of overtime.

How so? I've never made a secret of the fact that I think they're a
stunning looking bike and now that they've sorted the engines out to
give more power than a wanky old CBR6 they're a bike worth having.

I didn't take you for the gilded lilly type, which is what MV's always
seem to me, other than plain overpriced. It's obvious to me on
reflection that you of all people would appreciate the engineering in
    them.
