As subject. Wit's end.
I didn't like Loose Ends but I had a an affection for him (this is affection in a Radio 4 way). Nothing like as gutted as I was when John Peel died.
Sadly missed. I only know the John Cleese version, did Sherrin write it? http://atheistempire.com/mm_dl/audio/john cleese - consumers guide to religion.mp3
Dunno. Pretty sure it's the same piece though. Haven't listened to it all yet. Does it include (of the CofE) "All in all, we think you get a jolly good little faith for a very modest outlay, and we have no hesitation in claiming it the Best Buy." Sherrin produced TW3, so I wouldn't have seen it without it him IYSWIM. Frost fronted it, but Cleese was a writer on TW3 so presumably he wrote it? -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
I'm assuming this is a comment based upon his R4 persona, which to be fair went the way of so many people of his generation. Grossly stereotyped, although not anywhere as bad as another notable poof, Kenneth Williams. Nevertheless, his contribution to the arts has been notable, IMV.
A rhetorical question - your loss. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
I never found him personally that funny. The content and format of TW3 were ground breaking. The fact that it was 40 years ago doesn't diminish that IMO. For me at least, few other programmes have been such essential viewing in quite the same way (even allowing for the fact that their were no personal VCRs in 1962). -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+

I have found reference to it being written by Robert Gillespie and Charles Lewsen. Classified as 'Tasteless' by some net gaurdian systems it seems. PF
