It's almost enough to make me launch into a Nige-esque rant. What a
    fucking abortion.

As far as I can see, it's just the same, except more pastel.

It's got huge banner ads that make it look a right mess, the dropdowns
pick things at random when you hit a letter, the 'Age' dropdown starts
with 1 year then 10 years then 3 years etc (unless you haven't got a
make selected, in which case it's in the right order), you can't use it
without a mouse (isn't that illegal now?) etc etc.

I *liked* the old Autotrader website.

If you wanted to see the full details of an ad that had just been posted,
rather than pay out good money to register, you could just pull-up the URL
and delete the bit that said "Registered=No" and hey presto...

You had to pay to register? I just signed up with my email addy and Bob's
    your aunty.
The new site is bloody awful though, twice as slow as the old one.

    What ? You don't block Ads ?
    Not seeing that
    Nope, looks fine
Why would that be illegal ?

You probably need a less pikey link

You know, I thought that too but didn't really give it any creedence. I
    mean who doesn't

Depends which browser I'm using, but that's not really the point.
I'm not either anymore. Now it goes to the last one in the list that
matches the letter, which is a bit unusual but much better than it was
    this morning.
Still getting that though. Select Abarth as the make & the Age dropdown
    goes 1, 10, 3, 5, 7.
Because the law was changed to make all business websites usable by
    disabled people with screen readers.

Only as long as they have a valid UK postcode.

Yes it is, if it does not block ads, don't use it, or don't moan.
Obviously a sort thing, after all, 1 comes before 3 :)

Does it depend on browser/machine ?
What if they can't use a mouse ?

The vast majority of people will be using IE without an ad blocker, &
it'll look shit for them. I can't remember every seeing a business
    website which such intrusive ads.
    Doesn't seem to.
That's the point - it should be navigable using a keyboard only, & it
    isn't.

I've not read the link, but the point is blind people need to be able
to navigate websites using just the keyboard & a screen-reader. Whether
the laws apply to Autotrader or not though I have no idea. I looked
into it when I was still running MuddyStuff, & it was one of those grey
    'it depends' areas.

I wonder how many blind people are supposed to be driving and thus,
    needing to buy a car?

As far as I can see, the Act applies to any service provided to the
public. That would seem to include Autotrader.

I take your point about the screen-reader. Given the need for blind
people to read a site, I can't see how any site that requires a mouse
(or equivelant) can be legal if it falls within the scope of the Act.
