And hopefully it'll stay on two wheels, unlike BGN's which had a penchant
for lying down at the least provocation. It seemed reliable enough though.

I'm sure he won't mind me saying that.

IIRC it wasn't in very good fettle from a reliability perspective when
he tried to conquer France upon it.

  3. Didn't even make the ferry. At least, not without a push.

It made the ferry. But it wouldn't start when it wanted to get off.

You have to admit that 100% of your ER-5's problems were down to
fuckwittedness on your part, in one form or another.

The bike was cosmetically sound until you crashed it, and it was
mechanically sound until you neglected to maintain it properly.

I didn't try to imply that they weren't.
It was serviced regularly by paid qualified professionals...

There's a certain amount of 'between service' maintenance required on a
motorcycle, like checking the oil and coolant levels, tyre pressures,
    chain tension etc.

Hopefully the ER-5 will require a little less maintenance than my previous
Bullet, which required about 2 hours fettling for every hour ridden.

It had oil in it before I set off!

And it *had* had a hard life up to that time as recall.

Nice life story up until here Nick...
Then it all turned to shit, because now anyone would think the problems were
ER-5 problems and they weren't really anything to do with the bike. ANY bike
would've given up after being treated so well.

Biz's ER-5 never gave her any problems IIRC. It was perfect when she
    sold it.

What makes you think it wanted to get off?

Teah, but you and Sean are pals, so there's a common denominator there:)

Biz's ER-5 exploded (or something) and someone else from UKRM
It must've been that JoG to LA run you arranged.
I dunno, I've never had the pleasure of owning one.
