  2. I really like V twins.
    The price is right.
    The size is right - 99.9% of my riding is commuting (lots of lanesplitting).
    The last time I carried a pillion was about four years ago when I passed a
    hitch hiker who was carrying a motorcycle helmet (I had previously passed a
    broken down bike and put 2 and 2 together).
    The dealer is closer.
    I like the colour (Blue) they had yellow 2005 bikes but my wife said I'm too
    old to ride a yellow bike!

    I have turned them over inside a week... thanks for asking.

    I don't feel like selling the GSX14... yet.

    And it's not just bikes... at last count, I've owned 17 cars in my 16
    years of driving, and I'm sure I missed a few.

    I wish women were as easy to swap...

    I posted this the other day, but a mate of mine's got an SV650S to sell.
    Over 20k on the clock, but in immaculate condition. Located in the Blue
    Mountains, near Sydney. I think it's a 2001 model, yellow, with Staintunes
    and possibly a rack/pack system. He's upgraded and needs to reclaim garage
    space. Dunno what he'd take, but he was asking over $7k - maybe $7500 (??)
    without success. He did comment that it wasn't a great pillion bike, but he
    and his wife still managed to pillion successfully. Besides, his current
    bike is even less pillion friendly, IMHO and they manage to use that. ;^)

    If you're interested, contact me via email - t (dot) fathers (at) gmail
    (dot) com and I'll pass on his details.

  7. I've had two six month bikes for that reason, simply bad choices

    R1100GS, just couldn't handle riding it any distance, seat was too
    uncomfortable, it was heavy too for it's purpose
    Triumph Trophy 900, poor handling on normal bumpy Aussie roads

    I gave them at least 6 months though.

  8. 4 bikes and 4 cars (and never both at once until just now) in 36 years.
    One of us is impulsive and the other one flatly refuses to admit making
    a mistake :)

    I think about 4 years is the longest I've gone but if you add up my three
    XJ900s it would probably be 10 or so.
    I really really wanted to keep the R1100GS a bit longer than the 18-or-so
    months that I had it before it got written off!

  11. I was going to suggest sending a complaint to their upstream ISP, until I
    noticed this;

    magshop.com.au = 203.18.241.16 = ACP Publishing

    Good luck in getting ACP to stop spamming you; your best bet would brobably
    be to put a complaint in at;
    https://web.acma.gov.au/secure/complaint_form.htm

  12. Yeah, it makes you wonder how stupid the idiots are by not honouring
    unsubscribe requests from customers who explicitly requested not to be
    subscribed anyway, and it's not the spam that bothers me! As I've told
    them, they can shove it up their arse, I won't be buying _any_ of their
    products ever again.

    Complaint form noted.

    If you're going to add them up I've had my Guzzi California for 30
