Finally took delivery of my new DR650 this arvo.

Got a few mods planned after the Trump is rebuilt but first and foremost
is that fucking seat. Worst. Seat. Ever.

So nice to have my knees in the breeze again after six weeks on Shank's
    Pony...

My 4th new bike, my 8th bike overall.

    My 1st dirt bike.

My 3rd Jappa*. (Just need a Kwaka and I've had the whole set...)

    My 1st Jappa* since 1983.

*(Not counting the XJ900 hulk in the garage)

I wish you much joy of it.
    Would push-bike nix help?
I hope that isn't waiting on a rust free petrol tank.

    regards,

Nice bike, you have me thinking roadtrail now as I have never owned a
    offroad bike before.

That's always worried me. If it's not vibrating on the outside, does that
mean it's vibrating twice as much on the inside?

I agree. The sheepskin (short) has made life a lot more comfortable.

I really need a new seat as I intend doing some distance on it. I'm
looking at picking up a second-hand one and sending it to this bloke
Moorhouse in Brissie whom it seems is very good at modifying seats.
Depends on your definition of "lasted".
That's the best bit of the bike. It has a perfect rust-free fuel tank.
Probably worth more than the rest of the bike.

Never crossed my mind to own a dirt bike until I borrowed a KLR (KLX?)
650 last year for a couple of months.

What it means is that once the Trump is back on the road I'll have two
bikes, always handy when you leave for work and find a flat battery or tyre.

I also now have transport to chase up parts for the Trump or carry parts
to and from the workshop at work.

Happy Doug is now bursting with fresh new Happy.

Not in a North Queensland summer with work 10kms away.
I'll look at that down the track. Trump comes first for now.
We do, it's usually the second week in August.

Grip is good, just makes my arse ache something chronic after a few kms.
Seems to be getting better though, took the long way home from work tonight.
    Ta, mate.
