Looks as though Muslims have been selected to play the role of the bogey
man, now that communists can no longer play this part!

In reality the real bogeyman is our own government, acting in the interests
of big businesses, that pull the strings of these puppets, and to a large
extent determine what the majority of sheeple actually think.

Personally I feel decimating public services to increase profits, and
dumbing down the education system to the stage when its quite possible for
the average Chav to get a university place, as well as increased police
powers, and decreased personal libertys, are of somewhat more concern than
hysterical scare stories about airline bombers.....................

Why on *earth* would I want to compete with you? You can't even post in
an informed manner, let alone make an informed post.

He really needs to work at it to be a good troll.

<fx: sigh> I remember the trolls of days gone by such as clocky and
Des. They used to get much better reactions.

Ken is just trying to illicit arguments based on his political beliefs
and he's just coming across as a know-nothing, boring ****.

You are misinformed - the public sector has grown enormously under
Gordon Brown and continues to do so.

Have you any understanding of the long term implications of PFI?

I guess as you all seem to exist on a staple diet of corporate media
bullshit, you probably dont have much grasp of this!

Well that was it. You could *really* believe they weren't actually
trolling. This guy appears to be taking some kind of trolling 101 course.
    Yep, very true.

Actually, we just don't give a **** what *you* think about it. Your
methodology utterly invalidates anything that you might have to say.
Even if you had anything worth saying.

Ah, but there's replying and biting. I'm not doing the latter. Good

We shall carry on critiquing his lack of technique between us,
occasionally lobbing him a nibble to keep him apoplectic.

The long term implications of PFI are no different from any other
method of borrowing money which has something every government has
done since the beginning of time and will continue to do so until the
end of time. The size of the public sector has grown and therefore to
say that it has been decimated is inaccurate at best, and the subject
of PFI is entirely separate to that discussion.

It is very different method of finance. The government can raise cash at far
better rates than a private company. In addition the private company has to
make a profit. But it is worse, because some of these services are essential
the government can't allow the private company to go bust. So in effect when
the private company buys whatever the asset is, it also gets given a 'put
option' on the assets value. That is what is known technically as a 'real
option' and is extremely valuable, but is given away for nothing by the
government. The method the government uses to assess the true value of PFI
projects is ludicrous to the point of being financially innumerate - no wonder
companies with PFI contracts show such good returns on assets.
