New brakes

My GPZ900 front brakes have been pretty terrible from day 1, however
the warp-induced shudder got so bad that when the rego lapsed in March
I didn't bother to renew it.

I just fitted some new disks and pads ($400), then removed and cleaned
the carbies. I also removed the in-line fuel filter that I suspected
was causing the fuel starvation issues when the bike was leaned over
for more than 10 seconds (such as you might encounter while riding
    with a crosswind).

It's made quite a difference, although now I can notice the adequate-
though-not-terribly-impressive nature of the single pot brake
calipers. Still, I don't hate the bike so much now. Which is just as
well, because a new one is at least a year away.

  3. I'm looking at upgrading my Weestrom ones to some gsx-r ones. The ones on the
wee are absolutely shithouse. I get off the blade where I can 2 finger brake
and try it on the Wee and end up having to grab a handfull.

For someone who owns and rides so many bikes, you sure have difficulty
adapting from one bike to another. :)

  5. Are you kidding? The worst one is getting off the fireblade and into the
girlfriends Kia Carnival. It does 0-100 using a calendar not a stopwatch. And
scooters just feel plain weird. : )

What do you think of the brakes on your Vee?

    Harrumph!

My dash illumination and rear tail lights stopped working this
evening, and a replacement fuse failed to solve the problem. I rode
25km home through the bucketing rain with my blinker on to provide a
    bit of visibility.

I'll sort it out on the weekend, when I can move it outside and have a
bit of light to work by.

It doesn't deem too likely. Unfortunately after 15 years of plebeian
worker bee bliss my employer has decided to load me up with a crushing
    load of responsibility.

    I'm a Boss Lady, now. :-(

There speaks someone who got blase and thought he could maintain the
necessary aura of incompetence without really trying!
Poor fool; did you really think you were the only one playing that game?
BT man; you've got to *work* and avoiding work!

Heh! I have to say that having a brake caliper drop off was not the
    happiest experience I've ever had!
