This afternoon I filleted some chrome from the blue bike.
This to replace the fibreglass rear mudguard and the old chrome chain
guard (that was painted over to match the fibreglass mudguard) on the
    nice red one.
It went rather well. The rear guard's bolts came out with no trouble at
all, the chain guard is in really good nick considering its 35 years
    old.
A quick clean up, polish and spray of acf50 underneath and they can go
    straight on :)

I'll send you some if you want.

Norfolk's got enough for the two of us.

You missing Switzerland? Loads of it here, oddly enough. Some friends
were driving down from our village to the flat here in Ebgelberg this
arvo, but it took three hours to get to Liestal (BL, about 35km from
home) and the roads were all gridlocked, so the turned round and went
back. It's not often that snow brings the Swiss motorways to a
    standstill.

    Not /really/ ... :)
Yes, that is unusual. My main concern when I was in
Untersiggenthal was not the main roads, it was firstly getting up the ramp
from the underground garage into the access lane, the 50 metres to the
side street, and the further 50 metres to the main road.

I'm a little bit worried about whether I'll be able to get into
Kings Cross on Tuesday night -- that's when the snow is forecast to hit
London -- for a gathering of cruciverbalists at the Guardian HQ. Luckily
the Tube strike (if it went on, there's nothing obvious on the Torygraph
site and www.tfl.gov.uk still mentions it as a possibility) will be over
    before then.
